The Chargers and Saints are among the trade suitors for 3,100-yard quarterback, Bryce Young this season. Bleacher Report says Young is open for a new start whether it’s in Carolina or elsewhere. Don’t expect the Alabama product to stick around if the Panthers don’t want him starting anymore after not getting at least a couple of close contests resulting in two disastrous blowouts. What makes it worse is that Young is already coming off an almost winless season and the Panthers’ patience is wearing thin so it’s no surprise of his benching, rather how early it is.

It’s only week three and Young is thinking about the next step in his future after his rookie contract is over. However, Dave Canales made it clear they’re not trading Young but he said the same thing about him being their starting quarterback for this year. After two games, the team is giving up on him which may not even be his fault since he doesn’t have a strong offensive line to give him time in the pocket. It’s a struggle for him since Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen are on the frustration road and it doesn’t seem like things will get better for the rest of the season under Andy Dalton.

After leaving Carolina, many quarterbacks like Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield thrived in their new rosters. The same case could apply to Young if any team is willing to give him a chance. It may not be Young’s fault for his underperformance but one can imagine what Carolina will do to rebuild their roster back up if they trade him. Here are some new destinations for Young that could open up for him.

Potential Trade Destinations

Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have a strong offensive line which is why the running back game is thriving under Jim Harbaugh’s new regime. Young may not win the starting job but he could be a reliable backup for Justin Herbert. Easton Stick is not winning football games for this team and he’s not carrying this offense like Herbert would be able to. It would allow Young on a clean slate to finally lead a team if Herbert goes down.

Herbert is dealing with a high-ankle sprain so that could always creep up so someone like Young could step in.

New Orleans Saints

New Orleans looks like they have their future starter since Derek Carr is on a hot streak winning back-to-back matchups. However, the coaching staff is anticipating the Saints to head to the playoffs this season. He has plenty of weapons to lead the team to the postseason but if it falls flat, Carr may not have a job anymore. Alvin Kamara may become a hot trade candidate if things don’t pan out like how the Saints want.

Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens lost Tyler Huntley so now it leaves Josh Johnson alone to back up Lamar Jackson. However, they don’t have anything to worry about replacing Jackson anytime soon considering he’s a back-to-back MVP. Injuries happen and he experienced several injuries so Baltimore should play it safe and trade for Young. He’s a better backup option than Johnson and can thrive under one of the best offenses in the league.

Miami Dolphins

Miami is moving forward this year without Tua Tagovailoa even though his future might be up in the air. He may not have plans to retire but his concussions should probably worry the team if it gets worse. However, they’re optimistic about adding a veteran quarterback and starting Skylar Thompson for the time being. The Dolphins should probably start thinking life after Tagovailoa and Young might be their best option.

He probably won’t thrive easily under a new system but it’s an opportunity for him to try a fresh regime.

Dallas Cowboys

Dallas is set at quarterback with Dak Prescott leading the way but the team may be fielding trade calls for Trey Lance and Cooper Rush. They’ll most likely trade Lance since he’s in the last year of his contract. However, no one should be surprised if Carolina starts making calls for Lance or Rush to replace Young and exchange quarterbacks.
