Ravens vs Chiefs Prediction

Ravens 24, Chiefs 18

This is a retooled Baltimore team that is out for revenge. During last year’s regular season, they averaged 370.4 total yards per game. Most of this came through the rushing attack. However, Jackson had a career-best year in two key categories with 8.0 air yards per completion and a 67.2 completion percentage. He’s looking to throw the ball downfield and secondaries will have to honor the deep ball. Meanwhile, they’ve added Derrick Henry who will share more of the offensive responsibility and should open up opportunities for his teammates.

Conversely, this Kansas City side averaged approximately 20 yards less of total offense, while mustering only a 15th-best 21.8 ppg. This is a team that looks to get to the post-season healthy and without revealing too much of their hand. And while this matchup isn’t receiving as much focus, the Chiefs’ corners going up against the Ravens’ receivers is the matchup to look for. As mentioned, Jackson is getting better at finding times to get big gains with his arm. Consequently, the potential impact of losing L’Jarius Sneed this past offseason is too much to overlook. The current Tennessee Titans member was tied for third in the league with 17 forced incompletions and did not allow a receiving touchdown in coverage.

Ravens vs Chiefs Best Bets

Ravens +3 (-115)

This will be a close game. Additionally, Kansas City is a team that allows others to hang around, while Baltimore plays until the final whistle. Worst case scenario, even with a KC win, it’s easy to see a backdoor cover happening with this one. An outright win may be too risky, but the underdog covering is a safe option for this game.

Under 47 (-110)

The last AFC title game ended with a 17-10 scoreline. At this point in the year, the defenses tend to be ahead of the offenses and this isn’t the Kansas City team of old that looks to run up the score. Factoring in, that Baltimore will still likely lean heavily on their run options, expect this to be a low-scoring game.

Ravens vs Chiefs Prop Bets

Travis Kelce Anytime TD scorer (+110)

The tight end entertained the prospect of taking a lesser role, but that day has not arrived yet. Kelce is a threat, particularly in the Red Zone, and especially near the goal line. Expect a sneaky gadget play or a hard sell on a play-action pass from Mahomes to his favorite target when Kansas City is threatening to score.

Lamar Jackson Over 50 Rushing Yards (+105)

Chris Jones is still lining up on the opposite side of this line. The defensive tackle will win his fair share of battles and Jackson will be flushed from the pocket. Luckily for Baltimore, he’s the most elusive athlete in the sport. The quarterback only needs the slightest of green lights and he’ll be halfway down the field. Whether it’s by design or on the scramble, the former MVP will remain a threat with his legs.
