Now that it’s the middle of August and the NFL season is right around the corner, it’s time to stake your claim in players you do or don’t believe in for 2024. This is the chance to create the “I told you so” moments after winning your league in January. Here are a few bold predictions for fantasy football in 2024.

Fantasy Football Draft Guide

Bold Prediction #1: Jayden Daniels Finishes as a Top-10 Fantasy Quarterback

Jayden Daniels has all of the tools to succeed under Dan Quinn. A strong arm, a system he looks comfortable in and receivers to make him look good. Daniels has already shown in the preseason that he’s going to be a smart passer but won’t be afraid to take deep shots when necessary. He’s a dual-threat quarterback who isn’t afraid to make plays with his feet either.

He has the potential to be the best quarterback in this year’s draft class ahead of Caleb Williams. There’s a reason why he’s consistently the first rookie quarterback off the board in mock drafts. With Daniels having Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson to work with on the outside, it sets him in a good spot to do well. C.J. Stroud came up just shy of the top 10 last year, but Daniels can get over the hump in 2024.

Bold Prediction #2: Ladd McConkey Emerges as a Top-25 Receiver

If you don’t know the name Ladd McConkey by now, here’s your chance to learn it. McConkey enters a wide receiver room that is desperate for help. Joshua Palmer has a big injury concern after missing time last year, and Quentin Johnston can’t catch a cold much less a football. With the departure of Keenan Allen, Justin Herbert needs a top target to throw to which sets up McConkey to be that guy.

McConkey is primed to be a slot receiver and could have a similar career trajectory as Brandon Aiyuk. Both of them excel in terms of yards per catch, and McConkey is at his best in the middle of the field. Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers know what they have in McConkey. If he and Herbert get on the same page, it won’t take much for McConkey to post 10+ points per game on a consistent basis.

Bold Prediction #3: Derrick Henry Makes Case for RB1 in 2024

Derrick Henry may be on the wrong side of 30 years old, but the big guy isn’t slowing down anytime soon. In five of his last six seasons, he has surpassed 1,000 rushing yards. Three of those six seasons saw him run for over 1,500 yards. He’s also scored 10+ touchdowns in each of the last six years and while he has a better quarterback in Lamar Jackson, the Ravens are still a run-heavy system.

Henry won’t have to compete for touches with anyone in the Baltimore backfield, and he’s going to get the goal line work to add fantasy points for his name. Henry’s size and speed have led to him averaging 4+ yards per carry each season, and that won’t change in 2024. If he gets the volume like he did in 2022, Henry could certainly be in the discussion for RB1.
