The Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs trade candidate Amari Cooper makes a cryptic social media post after being in several trade rumors recently. According to a report, Cooper has made his first reaction to the news of him being a part of a trade package that would involve him heading to the 49ers while the Browns get Brandon Aiyuk in return. It came very close but the only reason why it didn’t go through is because of Aiyuk’s desire to suit up in a different uniform. He wasn’t going to sign a new deal with the team if it meant he goes to a new roster this season which wouldn’t make the trade any sense.
Aiyuk already has his preferences in where he wants to go which include the Steelers and Commanders but Cooper wouldn’t mind going to the 49ers. His Instagram story post probably doesn’t imply that he’s talking about the trade but the timing of the message seems definite that’s what he was talking about. It’s not clear what Cooper would have liked about the trade but he was heading toward a high-powered offense and wants out of Cleveland. Drama is stirring with the Browns already since Cooper doesn’t like the fact that they’re trying to trade him one month before the regular season.
A trade is almost likely this season for Cooper so the top candidates are the Ravens even though they have two solid starters. Rashod Bateman has been a disappointment and hasn’t been replicating the same skillset as Zay Flowers so it may make sense to bring in Cooper to accommodate. However, Cooper wouldn’t budge the idea of joining the back-to-back Super Bowl champions and team with incoming receiver Marquise Brown and rookie Xavier Worthy.

Other Possible Trade Destinations
Dallas Cowboys
The idea of the Cowboys reuniting with Cooper makes too much sense for both sides. They’re still restoring their relationship with CeeDee Lamb since the Cowboys have no urgency to give him a new contract before the season begins. Lamb is already teasing that he could be in a new uniform soon since he’s changing his social media presence that doesn’t involve the team. It seems like he wants to move on after commenting “lol” in response to Jones stating that the Cowboys are not looking to extend him anytime soon.
However, Cooper re-joining the team would bring the fans hype again if the Cowboys do trade Lamb this offseason. Cooper would probably take a cheaper contract if it means returning to the team where they shouldn’t have traded in the beginning. It was a still shocker that Cooper was moving on but they would give their No. 1 receiver if Lamb moved on.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers are doing everything they can to ensure that Bryce Young has a great second year in his NFL tenure after a disappointing rookie season. Diontae Johnson and Adam Thielen are fine veterans but Cooper could supply the team with long-term stability. This doesn’t go to say that Cooper is better than these receivers by any means but the competition for wide receiver depth would be nice for Young who’s trying new targets this season either way. The thing is that Cooper is at the stage of his career where he provides star power and that’s exactly what Young needs.
Quarterbacks like Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, or Lamar Jackson didn’t become good overnight with amateur playmakers. The best of the best will need to step in to ensure the Panthers that they’ve found their next franchise quarterback.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers out of any NFL team need help at the wideout position. Even though they were able to draft Ladd McConkey, they don’t have a singular star receiver since departing with Mike Williams and Keenan Allen. Cooper shares the same characteristics as those two playmakers so his addition would be nice for Herbert who’s looking to remain as one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
