The Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs are most likely trade candidates for star wideout, Brandon Aiyuk. According to a report, a couple of sources believe that Aiyuk will sign an extension to remain with the 49ers but things don’t look that way. Aiyuk has been the main subject of this NFL offseason along with Courtland Sutton where a trade could occur at any moment. However, general manager John Lynch is making it clear he’s not trading Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel since the NFL Training Camp is nearing.
The drama continues with the two sides negotiating as some believe that Aiyuk may reunite with fellow rookie, Jayden Daniels in Washington. He’s been traveling with him even to his meeting with the 49ers but Aiyuk said he may wind up with the Commanders if he doesn’t sign an extension in San Francisco. However, the bad news for Commanders fans is that they’re not looking to sign or trade for any wideout as most of their receivers are a lock for this upcoming year. Aiyuk’s asking price may be holding up the 49ers but sooner or later the team may have to pay up if they want to keep at least one of their star wideouts for the long term.
This means Samuel will likely move on to another team since it’ll be impossible to keep both wideouts. If Aiyuk gets put on the trade block, the Ravens and Chiefs are most likely candidates. It may seem like Aiyuk has Washington and Pittsburgh on his wishlist but if the opportunity is there then he’ll get after it. Aiyuk may want to win now with the production he’s putting up.
Here are some other potential trade fits for Aiyuk if these teams don’t reach out.
Ravens, Chiefs Most Likely Trade Candidates for Star Wideout Brandon Aiyuk
Other Potential Trade Fits
Los Angeles Chargers
Aiyuk probably won’t pick the Chargers but Los Angeles should become a team that may look into him. Justin Herbert needs a playmaker since Mike Williams and Keenan Allen’s departure. He’s not getting anywhere with just Quentin Johnson, Josh Palmer and DJ Chark as his main go-to targets. Ladd McConkey is showing some life for this offense but it’s hard to imagine this team becoming reliant on just one pass-catcher.
Aiyuk would finally get all the shine that he wants without being overshadowed. The Chargers would have to get creative though to get him to be a part of the team.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys need some type of life if they want any chance to get after the Super Bowl. Fans have been waiting long enough so it may be time for Jerry Jones to make a life-changing offer to bring in Aiyuk. CeeDee Lamb‘s future looks to be in doubt so they may make a landscaping move if they swap receivers which would create shockwaves. Brandin Cooks, Jalen Tolbert and KaVontae Turpin aren’t going to get through the playoffs with what they have.
New Orleans Saints
The likelihood of this trade happening is slim but the Saints need some superstar hype in New Orleans. Things don’t look promising for Derek Carr who’s on a year for redemption. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed look promising but it probably gives him much juice to go very far.
