The Baltimore Ravens or Kansas City Chiefs may shockingly trade for unhappy pass rusher, Haason Reddick before this season. According to a report, drama is unfolding already as the trade the Jets were hoping would work out is becoming the most baffling decision. New York decided to let Bryce Huff walk this free agency but the Eagles were quick to sign him to a new contract. However, it seems like both teams made a complete switch when the Jets made an offer to bring in Reddick but it’s not working out before he can step on the field.

The problem is that the 29-year-old isn’t happy with his current deal but there haven’t been any changes. Reddick has been skipping the team’s OTAs and mandatory minicamp so it doesn’t look like he’ll be a participant in this year’s training camp. However, the salary cap is tough on the Jets who only have $6 million in free space to give him a new deal. Reddick is aiming for something in the $25 million to $30 million per season range.

It would be logical to give him extra incentives in his deal for this deal until they can figure out a long-term solution. The other option would be to put him on the trade block again which would probably make uncertain NFL history for an athlete. However, the Ravens are still looking for one more pass rusher since losing Jadeveon Clowney this offseason. They could bring in Reddick to help replicate what he was doing in Baltimore opposite Roquan Smith.

The Chiefs are still in a market for pass rushers despite signing defensive tackle, Chris Jones to a mega deal. Nick Bolton has big shoes to fill so no one should expect him to be MVP status come week one.

Other Potential Trade Fits

Carolina Panthers

The linebacker position isn’t the biggest need for the Panthers since they were able to bring in Clowney this offseason. Shaq Thompson may need some help at depth if he needs to be in a rotational role with Reddick. It would help boost the landscape of the defense either way. Carolina has already been doing their job on offense to prepare for Bryce Young’s second year so it’s time to help the defense after missing out on Stephon Gilmore.

Gilmore isn’t a pass rusher but it’s hard to imagine this Carolina roster goes on the upcoming without adding one more defensive piece.

Los Angeles Chargers

This may get some people to scratch their heads considering that Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa are coming back this offseason. However, there are some rumors that the Chargers could trade Bosa to the 49ers to reunite with his brother, Nick Bosa. This seems unlikely but it could become a reality eventually if San Francisco is unsuccessful again on their quest for a Super Bowl. It would leave Mack alone but even his future doesn’t seem like a lock.

Mack and Bosa are being generous which the Chargers shouldn’t take advantage of. This is why they should play it safe to take a gamble on Reddick in case their two best pass rushers get pricey.

Dallas Cowboys

It’s like the sounds of crickets for America’s team this offseason. At this point, any new addition, trade or signing would probably boost this team’s chances. Eric Kendricks is a great signing but they haven’t done anything where it seems like they’re going all in. The Reddick trade should be able to change the conversation across the league and cause shockwaves.
