Jordan Love Dynasty Outlook
2023 was a Special Year for Love
Jordan Love’s dynasty outlook for 2024 is one that should have fantasy football fans screaming with excitement. Following in the footsteps of legends such as Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers isn’t an easy thing to do. Love had a lot of doubters, and he proved them wrong from week one until the Green Bay Packers were eliminated from the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers.
Most quarterbacks take some time to establish some rhythm, but Love started off really strong, leading Matt LaFleur’s offense. Through the first quarter of the season, Love threw nine touchdown passes and took care of the football by not providing any extra possessions to his opponents. He averaged just under 269 yards per game in those first four games.
Love is a player you can describe as “Mr. Consistent” as the Packers play-caller was throwing for over 225 yards and a touchdown pass in almost every single game. There were just three regular season games where Love ended with less than 200 yards in the air and only two games with more interceptions than touchdowns.
Reading the Room
While Love is a talented quarterback, there are still a lot of questions surrounding his receivers. Christian Watson played just nine games last year and only caught touchdowns in four of them, but his absence led to the emergence of talented youngsters Romeo Doubs and Jayden Reed. The wide receiver duo accounted for 33% of Love’s completions and 50% of his touchdowns.
Doubs, Reed, and Watson have the potential to be one of the league’s most underrated receiving trios heading into 2024. If Watson can stay healthy, Packers opponents will have to prepare for three players that can hurt them in any moment. When you have those options, it adds to Love’s value for 2024 and beyond. Jacobs is in Green Bay for the next four years while the others are still on their rookie contracts.
Dealing with Growing Pains
The only area of concern for Love in his first season as the Packers was the number of interceptions. While he averaged less than one per game, three of seven games with picks resulted in him throwing two or three. This doesn’t include the Divisional Round playoff game that still has people scratching their heads.
Turnovers are a part of the game for any quarterback and even more so for young ones. Ball security is going to be high on the priority list this year for Love.
Love-Hate Relationship for Dynasty Players
Those who have Love on your team will have a leg up on opponents in the quarterback department. Love’s upside is higher the 2024 rookies, so there’s no need to worry if you couldn’t get Caleb Williams or Jayden Daniels.
KeepTradeCut has Love listed as the 10th-best quarterback to have in a dynasty league and behind Williams. Much of that, though, is first-overall bias, so don’t put too much weight on that particular aspect of the rankings.
Those who do not have Love… good luck trying to get him. It’s to require a lot of prying for someone to move on from him. And if they also have one of the three receivers (Doubs/Reed/Watson), the price will be even higher. Jordan Love is a must-have player in dynasty leagues in 2024 and beyond.
