A crucial time for many fans around the NFL is when they finally get to see who, when, and where their team will be playing this fall. The Eagles 2024 schedule seems to be a more favorable one at least in terms of strength of schedule rankings. However, with the disappointing end to their 2023 season, the Eagles will have a lot to prove. There are going to be crucial tests for them early and later in the season to prove just where their ceiling is.
Eagles 2024 Schedule Picks
Weeks 1-5
Week 1 Vs. Green Bay Packers (Brazil)
The league’s opening weekend will see the Eagles and Packers play in South America for the first time. It should be a good game for all the Brazilian fans in attendance. This will be a big test in week one for the Eagles and whether they can perform against a talented Packers defense. The key to this game will be whether the Eagles defensive line can ruin the game. In the opening weekend where everyone will be energized, give the Eagles a slight edge.
Week 2 Vs. Atlanta Falcons (Monday Night Football)
The Atlanta Falcons have had an interesting offseason through free agency and the draft. They look to be much better than last year with Kirk Cousins at the helm at quarterback. However, it may take some time for them to click together and figure out how they want to play. Add in the element of the Linc on a Primetime Monday night game, the Eagles can catch the Falcons when they are not quite at their best.
Week 3 @ New Orleans Saints
The Saints are a talented team, especially on the defensive side of the ball. However, they may not have the firepower to keep up with the Eagles. Expect the Eagles’ defense to control the game and lead them to another victory.
Week 4 @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Eagles will see the Buccaneers again after being knocked out of the playoffs by them last year. Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles has shown the ability to scheme up problems for the Eagles offense, and until the Eagles prove they can overcome that, they deserve the edge in this game.
Week 5 Bye Week
Weeks 6-10
Week 6 Vs. Cleveland Browns
This will be another big test for the Eagles. The Browns boast possibly the best defense in the league with an unbelievable secondary and Myles Garrett and Za’Darius Smith coming off the edges. The key for the Eagles to win this game will be controlling the clock through the run game, however, the Browns have the potential of a good offense that can make big plays and have the Eagles play catch-up. This will be a tough, contested game, but the Browns’ secondary will be hard to crack for the Eagles to win.
Week 7 @ New York Giants
Saquon Barkley’s return to MetLife Stadium may be ruined by a tough Giants defense. However, The Eagles should win an ugly game by making a few more plays on offense through Devonta Smith and A.J. Brown.
Week 8 @ Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals will be looking to bounce back from a poor season in 2023. What’s scary is Joe Burrow’s ability to pick apart zone defenses along with receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. The Bengals have enough firepower on offense to win a shoutout against the Eagles.
Week 9 Vs. Jacksonville Jaguars (Sunday Night Football)
Doug Pederson’s return to Philadelphia will be a fun one for fans. The Jaguars are a good team with a defense that will make it tough for the Eagles’ offense. However, the defensive line will be able to smother Trevor Lawrence and hold them off for a win.
Week 10 @ Dallas Cowboys
The first matchup between the biggest division rivals happens in Dallas. Dallas has had a weird offseason and while this matchup can often go either way, expect the Eagles to get one over their rivals early.
Weeks 11-15
Week 11 Vs. Washington Commanders (Thursday Night Football)
After three hard games in a row, the Eagles host the Commanders on a short week of preparation. While the Commanders aren’t superbly talented, rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels could give the Eagles problems with his rushing ability. The Commanders get a surprise victory here over their divisional rival.
Week 12 @ Los Angeles Rams (Sunday Night Football)
The Los Angeles Rams were the surprise of the season last year. They have a great passing attack with receivers Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp as well as Matt Stafford under center. However, the Eagles should be able to overpower them on both the offensive and defensive line and win the game in the end.
Week 13 @ Baltimore Ravens
The Eagles spent some capital trying to improve the Linebacker position this offseason. However, the backfield duo of Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry will put the Eagles to the test. Jackson is a difference maker and pairing him with a great Ravens defense will make it a difficult game for the Eagles. If they could contain Jackson, they could win, but expect a Ravens win at home.
Week 14 Vs. Carolina Panthers
The Panthers were the worst team in the league last year and are expected to be among the worst again this year. There shouldn’t be enough talent on either side of the ball to challenge the Eagles, who should get a comfortable win.
Week 15 Vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers will come to Philly for the Pennsylvania Bowl with a dangerous team. T.J. Watt and Minkah Fitzpatrick can take over any game. The big key to this game will be if the Eagles can control the game on the ground and expect them to do so here.
Weeks 16-18
Week 16 @ Washington Commanders
If the Eagles fall into a trap game against the Commanders earlier in the season, expect them to bounce back. The big weakness of the Commanders will be the secondary, and as the playoffs approach, the Eagles will want Jalen Hurts and the receivers to be firing on all cylinders.
Week 17 Vs. Dallas Cowboys
For the last two years, the Cowboys and Eagles have split their divisional games one apiece. In both years the Eagles have won the first and the Cowboys have won the second. Give the Cowboys an edge here and make the trend happen a third time.
Week 18 Vs. New York Giants
The Giants beat down the Eagles late last year before the playoffs. However, the Eagles will reverse that this season, in a likely crucial game for them seeding-wise.
Eales 2024 Schedule: Record 11-6
The Eagles don’t have the hardest schedule in the league, but there are going to be challenges for them throughout the year. Some swings that can go either way for the Eagles, like games against the Packers, Browns, and Bengals. Regardless, the Eagles will set out to prove the way their 2023 season ended was a fluke. A good season will be appreciated by the fans, but the team, front office, and fans all believe the Eagles will be a championship contender. So, they must show consistency throughout the year to earn and maintain that type of trust and expectation.
