The Chicago Bears are uniquely positioned heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. Not only do they have two first-round selections, but they also have the fewest picks in the NFL, with four selections overall. The Bears currently have picks one, nine, 75, and 122. This signals a considerable need to trade down with one of the four selections to acquire more draft picks. With such few picks, it’s necessary to nail every selection for Chicago. Here are the best day 2 fits for the Bears.
Best Day 2 Fits for the Bears
EDGE Adisa Isaac, Penn State
With all the love shown to Chop Robinson, Adisa Isaac often goes overlooked. Isaac has an arsenal of pass-rush moves that allow him to get to the quarterback. His active hands make it hard for offensive linemen to have a break. Where Isaac can improve is run blocking due to his lack of raw power and overall weight. Fortunately, Isaac would have the opportunity to learn under one of the best run-blocking edge rushers in Montez Sweat. With time, Isaac can emerge as a key pass rusher for the Bears.

WR Javon Baker, UCF
For a good reason: Javon Baker is one of the most talked about day 2 wideouts. He has an impressive burst off the snap and understands how to get open. His ability to catch contested passes is on par with the best wide receivers in the draft class. His yards after the catch ability, combined with his long arms, give him an extremely high upside. Baker has a serious chance of becoming a star in the NFL, especially if he has D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen as mentors.
IOL Mason McCormick, South Dakota State
Scoring an impressive RAS score of 9.96 out of 10, Mason McCormick is an athletic specimen. He’s physical and isn’t afraid to latch onto defenders and plow them to the ground. His ability to get downfield and open up rushing lanes will be a huge plus for the Bears to continue being dominant in the run game. With uncertainty at guard due to injuries, McCormick can prove his value sooner rather than later for the Bears.
FS Calen Bullock, USC
With Kevin Byard not being a long-term option at free safety for the Bears, adding a guy like Calen Bullock would be wise. Bullock is a lengthy safety who knows how to create turnovers on defense. Notably, despite his 6’2″ frame, he displays fluid footwork and impressive agility, attributes uncommon for a player of his stature. While his run defense may be an area for improvement, Bullock distinguishes himself as a coverage specialist, making impactful plays that defensive coordinators would love. If Bullock can bulk up and become a more consistent run defender, he can become a standout safety in the NFL.

DT Ruke Orhorhoro, Clemson
Another RAS standout, registering an impressive score of 9.90 out of 10, Ruke Orhorhoro emerges as another exceptional defensive lineman from Clemson entering the draft. Orhorhoro’s outstanding blend of size, power, and explosiveness consistently enables him to disrupt plays in the backfield. Additionally, he boasts a diverse repertoire of pass-rushing techniques, a rarity among defensive tackles, though he may need to work on his lateral movement. Orhorhoro would seamlessly fit in the Bears’ defensive line. His presence alongside Gervon Dexter Sr. could form a youthful yet formidable duo at defensive tackle.
Overall Outlook On Day 2 Fits For The Chicago Bears
Each college prospect offers unique skill sets that can translate into the NFL. The Bears have a chance to coach and mold these prospects into standout players and make a significant impact on the Bears for years to come. All that’s left for these young men is to prove themselves on the field through their actions.
