Fulton was a second-round selection by the Tennessee Titans in the 2020 NFL Draft and played college football with the LSU Tigers. In college, Fulton was a standout cornerback in the SEC and helped the Tigers win the 2019 national championship. Fulton’s rookie season was nothing special, as he only appeared in six games and started in two. However, he accumulated one interception and a pass deflection during his limited playing time.
Fulton had his most successful NFL season in 2021, as he accrued 14 pass deflections and a career-high two interceptions. His 14 pass deflections led him to be tied for 12th most among NFL defensive backs, proving himself to be a valuable secondary player for the Titans. In 2021, Fulton also started in a career-high 13 games, giving him a massive boost in playing time compared to his rookie campaign.
Although Fulton performed well throughout 2021, he could not sustain that level of play during 2022. His drop in performance was partly due to the numerous injuries he dealt with for the entire season, similar to fellow Titans defensive back Caleb Farley. Fulton only played in 11 games, and his statistics were drastically lower than his breakout 2021 campaign. Specifically, he had nine fewer pass deflections and only one interception.
Sadly for Fulton, the injuries still plagued him during the 2023 season. Although many fans wanted to see him on the field and help the porous Titans secondary, he only started in 11 games this season. A hamstring injury that forced him to miss games in 2022 came back and made him miss the final five games of the year. Despite the lingering injuries over the past few seasons, Fulton has shown signs of brilliance throughout his four-year NFL career.
