The Cleveland Browns open up their postseason with a trip to Houston to battle with the Texans. Quarterback Joe Flacco has the opportunity to claim sole possession of the most career playoff road wins by a quarterback. He and Tom Brady are currently tied for the most with seven road wins each, two clear of the next group of quarterbacks.
Quarterback Joe Flacco is known for his time with the Browns’ division rival, the Baltimore Ravens. Flacco was instrumental in bringing a Super Bowl to Baltimore and has a Super Bowl MVP to his name. Nobody would have thought that Flacco would have a chance to pass Brady, especially with the orange and brown. That crazy concept has now become a reality.

It started in January of 2009 when quarterback Joe Flacco led the Ravens to road wins in the first two rounds of the playoffs. It was not very pretty, but it helped earn an AFC championship berth. He followed that up in 2010 when he defeated the Patriots on the road in the Wild Card round.
2011 was more of the same, a third straight road win in the Wild Card round for Flacco and the Ravens. He had a better performance than his past playoff games with two touchdowns in the victory. 2013 was his most important as he threw for three touchdowns in both road playoff games en route to the Super Bowl, where he threw for three more and was named most valuable player of the big game.

In 2015, he defeated the rival Steelers once again in another impressive Wild Card round road outing. This put him atop the list of quarterbacks with the most playoff wins on the road, a feat Brady would later tie up.
Balling with the Browns
After the Browns suffered injuries to their top three quarterbacks, a desperate team needed a solid option to help push the team into the postseason. Quarterback Joe Flacco has provided that and much more in his five starts for the team.
He has thrown two or more passing touchdowns in all five of his starts, and his 13 passing touchdowns are more than some teams had all season as of last week. Flacco has also thrown for 300 or more yards four times and has 1,616 passing yards in just five games. His performances led to a 4-1 stretch, good enough for him to rest in the final game of the season.

With the No. 5 seed locked up, Flacco had the chance to rest and heal. He will look to dice up a defense he put 368 yards and three touchdowns on just weeks ago. If he can play anywhere close to as well as he did in their previous outing, the Browns will continue their playoff run. It will be important for Flacco to be a veteran presence for a team where many have only played in minimal playoff games.
Having a savvy veteran could be just what Cleveland needs to make it to the super bowl and potentially claim their first Vince Lombardi trophy.
