Joe Burrow Has Successful Wrist Surgery With Eyes on 2024

Joe Burrow had successful wrist surgery on Monday and is expected to make a full recovery to be ready for the 2024 NFL season.

The Cincinnati Bengals franchise quarterback Joe Burrow had successful wrist surgery on Monday with the news confirmed by the team.

This is Burrow’s second injury in four years that ended his season prematurely. Burrow had a rough start to his 2023 campaign with a calf strain suffered in training camp. This affected him greatly during the first month of the season, and the Bengals could never recover to get back in the AFC North race. Even with the injury, Burrow was playing well through 10 games, throwing for a completion percentage of 66.8 with 2309  passing yards and 15 touchdowns to six interceptions.

All Eyes on Me

Overcoming adversity is nothing new to Burrow, and it’s something he’s battled his entire career. On every occasion, he’s been victorious and lifted his team higher. The Bengals will need Burrow to put on the Superman cape again but have to support him better this offseason. The team lacks speed at the offensive skill positions, and Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd may leave in free agency. The defensive side of the ball has also been disappointing and is currently on pace to allow the most points in NFL history. The one silver lining is that this may teach the Bengals front office Burrow can’t do it all. With any franchise quarterback, they elevate absolutely everyone around them, and Burrow has hidden the organization’s shortcomings for years. The team needs to hit on the 2024 draft, and free agency while some position coaches may also pay the price. If the Bengals are truly committed and hold up their end of the bargain, Burrow will look to lock up a second Comeback Player of the Year award and hopefully much more for the city of Cincinnati.
