DraftKings Thursday Night Bargains

DraftKings DFS “Just Give Him a Chance” Pick – Deonte Harty

The punt returner is the most exciting pass catcher on the Bills team and he’s just $1,000 on DraftKings DFS Captains Showdown this week. He’s only seeing a 6.8% target share so far this season. But he leads the Bills’ receivers in yards after the catch per reception.

Harty could line up opposite Carlton Davis III who has allowed 14.3 yards per reception on the 15 completions that have been thrown his way this season.

The “He’s Better Than James Cook” DraftKings DFS pick – Latavius Murray

At $4,800 on DraftKings DFS Captains Showdown this week Murray is a tad expensive, but he’s averaging 4.7 yards per touch in 2023. Murray has scored two touchdowns and he’s gaining 7.7 yards per catch so they should definitely use him more. That doesn’t mean they will. James Cook averages 10.9 yards per reception in 2023 but the Bills have only thrown 31 passes at those two running backs. That’s just 13% of their total targets.

With Damien Harris on injured reserve Murray and Cook figure to be the only two who will be able to go on a short week. Murray will have to make the most of his increased usage.

The Fun Machine DraftKings DFS Pick – Deven Thompkins

Thompkins caught all three of his targets last week so at $1,600 on DraftKings DFS Captains Showdown this week he’s a strong contender for bargain of the week. The Buccaneers need to find ways to get Thompkins into some space though. He ended the game with just 14 yards last week.

In Week 4 Thompkins saw 63% of the offense’s snaps, but last week the Buccaneers only got him on the field for 26% of them. If they can get him more action this week he should line up opposite a linebacker or Kaiir Elam. Elam was targeted by Tyrod Taylor and the Giants in Week 6, Elam has allowed 10 completions on 14 targets this season. He’s allowing a passer rating of 101.8 so far this season.

Mr. Perpetual Motion DraftKings DFS Pick – Cade Otton

Otton is always on the field for the Bucs, they need to find a way to use him more as a pass catcher though. They seem to be getting a grip on the situation last week though. He went 5 from 6 in week 7.

He’ll cost $3,000 on DraftKings DFS Captains Showdown this weekend the Bills have allowed 9.2 points per game to opposing tight ends in 2023. But the Bills linebacking corps is very injured at the moment. Gesicki scored the winning touchdown for the Patriots and the Patriots’ tight ends hauled in 6 catches in total.

Quintin Morris

Cross your fingers and hope he’s fit enough to play. Otherwise, the Bills will have to rely on Dalton Kincaid and Joel Wilson fresh off the practice squad. Morris is an absolute steal at $200 on DraftKings DFS Captains Showdown this week though. His only catch in Week 6 was a touchdown.

The Buccaneers are allowing opposing tight ends to score 9.8 points per game and last week Falcons tight ends got 74 receiving yards in their victory over Tampa Bay.
