The bye week decisions have officially begun, which puts a twist on the fantasy football wide receiver rankings heading into Week 5
Wide Receiver Rankings

Bye weeks have officially begun which can only jeopardize some options at wide receiver heading into Week 5. Even with some exciting decisions to make, most of the top choices remain on the board. Here are the somewhat depleted wide receiver fantasy rankings heading into Week 5, a week in which many fantasy managers may have to decide if it’s time to make some serious trades.

Fantasy Football Week 5 Wide Receiver Rankings: Guess Who’s Back On Top

Tier 1: Lineup Locks

1. Justin Jefferson
2. Tyreek Hill
3. Davante Adams
4. Stefon Diggs
5. A.J. Brown
6. Ceedee Lamb
7. Ja’Marr Chase
8. Amon-Ra St. Brown

Even as the NFL enters Week 5, nothing new has occurred. Justin Jefferson once again finds himself as the safest choice in the wide receiver rankings. Jefferson currently is WR1 in standard PPR formats and is coming off a season-best two-touchdown game.

It seems any worries fantasy managers may have had about A.J. Brown have quickly been thrown out the window. Brown is coming off back-to-back monster outings and finished with nine catches for 175 yards and two touchdowns in Week 4. It’s safe to say any “drama” between Jalen Hurts and Brown has been resolved.

Until the Cincinnati Bengals offense finds its rhythm, it’s hard to trust anyone outside of Ja’Marr Chase in that offense. Even with the abysmal results, it’s impossible to shy away from Chase’s talents.

Tier 2: Solid WR1 Despite One Huge Question Mark

9. Garrett Wilson
10. Cooper Kupp*
11. Chris Olave
12. Deebo Samuel
13. DeVonta Smith
14. Brandon Aiyuk
15. Puka Nacua

There’s some indication that Cooper Kupp will make his NFL return after Rams head coach Sean McVay mentioned his return to practice. If Kupp plays he is a must-start player, but it still remains to be seen if Kupp will make it onto the field.

If Kupp comes back, the value of Puka Nacua will likely take a hit. However, it should not be enough to detour fantasy managers away with all the great chemistry already built between Nacua and Matthew Stafford.

A quiet game from Deebo Samuel in Week 4 was overshadowed by the dominance of Christian McCaffrey. Samuel will likely be involved in the game plans once again and is a solid lineup lock.

Tier 3: Wr2

16. Nico Collins
17. D.J. Moore
18. Jaylen Waddle
19. Michael Pittman Jr.
20. Adam Thielen
21. Marquise Brown
22. Terry McLaurin
23. Calvin Ridley
24. George Pickens
25. DeAndre Hopkins

Even with the emergence of Tank Dell, Nico Collins still remains C.J. Stroud’s favorite target. The rookie sensation will continue to light up defenses, making Collins the main beneficiary in the fantasy football wide receiver rankings.

It’s only a matter of time before Jaylen Waddle finds his footing with the Miami Dolphins offense. The Dolphins have an inviting matchup against a New York Giants defense getting gashed as of late providing some strong potential for Waddle.

Not a lot has gone right for the Carolina Panthers and Bryce Young. The lone bright spot belongs to Adam Thielen who remains reliable as ever from both a real life and fantasy perspective.

Tier 4: WR3/Flex Picks

26. Christian Kirk
27. Jakobi Meyers
28. Christian Watson
29. Zay Flowers
30. Tank Dell
31. Tyler Boyd
32. Jerry Jeudy
33. Romeo Doubs
34. Courtland Sutton
35. Tutu Atwell
36. Michael Thomas

As Calvin Ridley’s stock continues to go down, Christian Kirk’s continues to rise in the fantasy football wide receiver rankings. It’s not a strong WR2 play just yet but it’s safe to deploy him as a WR3.

Christian Watson made his anticipated return with a touchdown despite only finishing with 25 yards. As the season continues Watson will regain his value as the lead option in Green Bay.

With Tee Higgins sidelined for the foreseeable future, Tyler Boyd’s opportunity as the Bengals second wide receiver has arrived. The offense still needs to work out some issues, but Boyd is worth the flex consideration if not a stash.
