Denver Broncos Debut New Helmet, Announce Uniform Schedule

Denver Broncos New Helmets

This offseason, the ownership announced the creation of the Denver Broncos new helmet, the white ‘Snowcapped‘ theme. This white helmet with the old school ‘D’ logo on the side replaces the navy ‘Color Rush’ helmet. ‘Color Rush’ jerseys were an NFL experiment that was mostly unsuccessful. The Broncos were one team still wearing their ‘Color Rush’ alternate. But now it has undergone a change and fans will see the new look soon. The Broncos also recently announced their entire uniform schedule for the 2023 season. The Broncos have four different uniform options this season, and fans can’t wait to see them live.

Announcing their Uniform Schedule, the Denver Broncos Debut New Helmet

Color Rush

In 2016, the Broncos began wearing their ‘Color Rush’ uniforms, including orange pants, orange jersey, and navy helmet. Disparagingly called the “traffic cones”, these uniforms will see a change this season, and may perhaps not stay many more years. This season, the helmet will be white, marking the use of the ‘Snowcapped’ theme as a nod to the cold beauty of the Rocky Mountains towering above Denver. This new helmet will be worn twice this season. Week 5 at home vs Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets and Week 16 at home vs rival Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots.

Orange

The Broncos alternate dark orange jersey debuted in 2004, and was adopted as the primary jersey in 2012. Since then, Denver has been a dominantly orange team, with orange the color of their home and ‘Color Rush’ jersey. A community hashtag #UnitedInOrange has been used by fans for many years, as well as #OrangeFriday, where fans are encouraged to wear orange gear. Being Denver’s default home jersey, the dark orange primary jerseys will be worn for six games this season. That includes one away game, Week 3 at the Miami Dolphins.

White

Denver has long worn these white away jerseys, since 1997 when the Broncos changed their uniforms and won two Super Bowls. From light blue & light orange to navy & orange, from the ‘D’ logo to a new Broncos horse head, the change had an immediate impact. The white away uniforms are clean, crisp, and snowy, but will not be combined with the white helmet. Further changes to uniforms are expected under the new ownership. The Broncos will wear their white jerseys eight times this season, including one home game, Week 2 vs the Washington Commanders.

Navy

And not to be left completely behind, the navy blue jerseys will make an appearance this year, Week 11 at home vs the Minnesota Vikings. These navys debuted in 1997 as well, but were switched out for the oranges in 2012, and became alternates instead. At first, they were paired with white pants. Today’s all-blues feature navy pants as well.

Denver Broncos Debut New Helmet

Change is in the rarefied air in Denver. After all, the Denver Broncos debut new helmet will appear Week 5 at home vs the Jets. And their entire uniform schedule features a mix of looks that will delight fans. But changes aren’t done even yet. Look for more shakeups very soon as Denver’s new owners decide the future of the team and the future of their look.
