With the 2023 NFL Draft just a week away, the 2022 NFL runner-up Philadelphia Eagles are in a prime position to add elite talent – a luxury most Super Bowl teams do not encounter. The Eagles hold two first-round picks, sitting at number 30 (their own) and number 10 (via trade from the Saints). As we get closer to the draft it is time to look at the Eagles top three options for the 10th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
What the Philadelphia Eagles Should Do With the 10th Pick in the NFL Draft
Option 1: Bijan Robinson – Running Back – Texas
One of the most fascinating prospects in the 2023 draft is Bijan Robinson. Robinson is 5’11” and 215 pounds. The only weakness of Robinson’s game is that he plays the running back position. With outstanding size, speed, and hands, Robinson is the full package. Last season, the Texas product ran for 1,580 yards on 258 carries and 18 touchdowns while adding 19 receptions for 314 yards and two touchdowns.
There is a chance that Robinson comes into the NFL next season and leads the league in rushing: that is how good he is. Being compared NFL stars like Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, and Marshawn Lynch is a lot to live up to, and he is the type of running back the Eagles hope to draft with a top-10 pick.
The Eagles choosing to use a top-10 NFL Draft pick on a running back might seem like a luxury selection. However, a running back might be the biggest need on the team. The running back room currently consists of an unproven Trey Sermon, an undersized Boston Scott, a receiving back in Kenny Gainwell and often injured Rashaad Penny.
The Eagles will add someone to this room before the season starts, and they are in a prime position to add one of the best players in the NFL Draft. The chance to create a near unstoppable offense might be too sweet for general manager Howie Roseman with the 10th Overall Pick.

Option 2: Jalen Carter – Defensive Tackle – Georgia
Arguably the best overall player in the entire NFL Draft, Jalen Carter is a massive man at 6’3” and 314 pounds. Carter possesses excellent strength and a very high motor. His combination of great size, elite quickness, and explosiveness is what makes him so special. In 2022, Carter recorded 32 tackles, seven for a loss, and three sacks in 13 games. He was a unanimous All-American and First-Team All-SEC. His size and quickness give him a player comparison to Jeffery Simmons of the Tennessee Titans. Jalen Carter has game-breaking potential from the interior defensive line position.
If Jalen Carter is this outstanding, why would he be available at the 10th overall pick? He does not come without flaws. In March, he plead no contest to misdemeanor charges of reckless driving. As a result, he was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation, 80 hours of community service, and pay a $1,000 fine. He also showed up to his pro-day nine pounds heavier than at the NFL Combine.
The off-the-field issues have teams concerned. Will teams be concerned enough to cause him to drop down the draft board? We will have to wait and see. However, if Jalen Carter is available with the 10th overall pick in the NFL Draft, the Eagles will sprint to the podium to make the selection.

Option 3: Peter Skoronski – Tackle – Northwestern
Peter Skoronski is like a majestic dancing bear. Sitting at 6’4” and 310 pounds with lightning-quick feet, he has exceptional balance and strong hands, as well as excellent footwork with an explosive kick step. While he is best as a pass blocker, Skoronski is also a powerful run blocker that can finish plays. He has been compared to Cowboys All-Pro guard Zack Martin. Skoronski played almost exclusively as a tackle at Northwestern. However, some NFL scouts project him as a guard at the next level due to his short arms.
Adding to one of the best offensive lines in football might seem like overkill, and it is. Nevertheless, the Eagles lost right guard Isaac Seumalo to the Pittsburgh Steelers this offseason. Most people think that hole is going to be filled by the Philadelphia Eagles draft pick last season, Cam Jurgens.
Not so fast, Cam Jurgens was drafted to be the replacement center for Jason Kelce once he retires. Jurgens is undersized which could make him a liability at the guard spot. The Eagles could easily take Skoronski with the 10th overall pick, and play him at the guard position with the versatility to play tackle if needed.
