NFL veteran safety Jabrill Peppers has signed a contract with the New England Patriots. Peppers spent the 2022 season with the Patriots. He previously played for the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns.

Jabrill Peppers, New England Patriots, Agree to Contract
On April 4th, 2022, Peppers signed a one-year, $2 million contract with the Patriots. Peppers went on to play in all 17 games for New England, starting in five of them. He recorded no interceptions along with one fumble recovery and 60 combined tackles, 35 of which were solo tackles.
Peppers was drafted in the first round with the 25th overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2017 NFL Draft. Peppers was a highly touted prospect after a stellar career at the University of Michigan. His skillset and versatility helped him flourish while in college, culminating in a fifth place finish in the voting for the Heisman Trophy in 2016.
In his rookie season, Peppers started in all 13 games in which he played. He finished with 58 total tackles, one interception, and three passes defensed. Peppers also served as the team’s kick returner and punt returner, with 14 kick returns for 318 yards and 30 punt returns for 180 yards.
In 2018, Peppers improved upon his rookie year. He started all 16 games and recorded 79 total tackles, one interception, one sack, and five passes defensed.
In March 2019, Peppers was part of the trade package the Browns used to acquire Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Peppers started 11 games in his first season with the Giants before he suffered a season-ending injury. One highlight from his season was when Peppers registered a 32-yard pick-six off Dwayne Haskins in a Week 4, 24-3 win.
The next season, Peppers started 14 games. Peppers performed admirably as he recorded one interception along with a career-high 11 passes defensed and 2.5 sacks.
In 2021, Peppers played in six games before suffering a torn ACL in Week 7.
