Jordan Davis enters the 2022 NFL Draft after playing four productive years for the Georgia Bulldogs. Davis was a huge part of the Bulldogs 2021 National Championship team. Originally a three-star prospect, Davis thrived as soon as he stepped onto the college field. He played in 10 games for the Bulldogs in his freshman year, totaling 25 tackles. Davis would not stop there, as he played in 41 total games in his collegiate career, including 14 in his senior year. Davis totaled 90 tackles over this collegiate career and seven sacks.
Jordan Davis was highly decorated in college as well. In his senior year, Davis was a permanent captain as voted by his teammates. The Associated Press and Coaches awarded Davis to the All-SEC 1st team. This same year, Davis won the 2021 Chuck Bednarik Award from the Maxwell Football Club for being the best defensive player in the nation. Davis also won the 2021 Outland Trophy for best interior lineman from the Football Writers Association of America. A highly accomplished player on and off the field, Davis brings a work ethic and high character to the 2022 NFL Draft.

Bottom Line on Jordan Davis
Although he is listed as a defensive tackle. a traditional nose tackle-type role will likely get the most out of Jordan Davis in the NFL. His huge size and experience should help him contribute immediately to any team. Davis’ presence will likely not be seen in the stat sheets, since he will be used to free up other rushers and tacklers on the defense. There have been dominant nose tackles in the league that does not show up in traditional statistics. Do not underestimate the effect Davis could have on games.
Jordan Davis will likely fall to the last half of the first round but will likely be an immediate starter for whoever drafts him. If college foreshadows his NFL time, Davis will be a locker room leader immediately. Davis has shown character on and off the field over his career. Teams that need to focus on stopping the run will be looking at Davis. Unfortunately, recent NFL drafts have devalued the interior defensive positions. Davis is not likely to be taken in the first half of the draft, but he has far fewer questions than most players waiting to be selected.
