In his seventh season in the NFL and with Cincinnati in 2021, Uzomah enjoyed a career-best year while helping the Bengals to an appearance in the Super Bowl. Uzomah appeared in 16 regular-season games, finishing with career-best totals of 49 catches, 493 yards and five touchdowns. The tight end also took the field for 77 percent of the Bengals overall offensive snaps, also taking the field on the special teams unit for 23 percent of the snaps.

The strong showing a year ago followed up a season in 2020 where Uzomah only appeared in two games for the Bengals, finishing with just eight catches for 87 yards and one touchdown. Until that season, the tight end had been a nice piece to Cincinnati’s offense when he was able to take the field for the Bengals.

Leading up to 2020, Uzomah put together two strong seasons in both 2018 and 2019, his third and fourth years in the league. In 2018, he tallied 43 catches for 439 yards and three touchdowns in 16 games, which were his career-best numbers before the 2021 season. To follow that strong season up, Uzomah went on to appear in 16 games in 2019, finishing with 27 receptions for 242 yards and two touchdowns.

Those two years were breakout seasons for Uzomah and he has only continued to grow from that point. In comparison, he only recorded 26 catches for 238 yards and one touchdown in his first two seasons after breaking into the NFL in 2015 as a fifth-round draft pick out of Auburn.

When he is healthy, Uzomah has shown the ability to be a valuable player at tight end in Cincinnati. In 2022, his eighth season in the NFL, the 29-year-old will be a valuable asset once again in the passing game as he looks to build on a career-best season in 2021.
