The Miami Dolphins lost a thriller in overtime in Vegas against the Raiders. Jacoby Brissett, who was in for the injured Tua Tagovailoa, played well enough to keep Miami in the game. In the end, it was the Raiders, in overtime, winning it on a last second field goal. Brissett finished with 32 completion on 49 attempts, 215 yards, and a rushing touchdown, along with no interceptions. Having Brissett throw 49 times shows that Miami feels comfortable with him, at least for now.
Jacoby Brissett Impresses in Dolphins Disappointing Week 3 Loss
Hot Start Gone to Waste
This game was all Dolphins early on. They jumped to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, after an 82 yard pick-six and a 24 yard run that led to a touchdown. However, backed up at their own one yard line, Brissett threw a screen pass to rookie Jaylen Waddle who got tackled immediately, giving the Raiders the safety- two points and momentum. The Raiders went on to score 23 unanswered points, before Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders made it a 25-17 ball game midway through the fourth quarter.
The Dolphins ended up getting the ball back with just over three minutes to play, trailing by eight. On a 4th and 8, with the game on the line, Brissett zipped it to receiver DeVante Parker, who made a massive 15 yard catch.

The Dolphins were also granted a pass interference call in the endzone with just over one minute left, putting the ball at the Raiders one yard line. The Dolphins ended up scoring on a Brissett run, and converting the two point conversion to tie it up.

The Raiders took a 28-25 lead in overtime before Miami had a chance to win the game. It was on a 4th and 20, when Miami needed it the most, and Brissett delivered.

That play would set up another field goal by Jason Sanders to tie it up and force more overtime. Ultimately, it was the Raiders who would win on a last second 22 yard kick to improve to 3-0 on the year.
Dolphins O-line Continues to Struggle
While the offensive line played a bit better than last week against the Bills, it is still a glaring issue for the Dolphins. First round pick Austin Jackson, who the Dolphins selected 18th overall last year, is not looking like the first round pick they were hoping for. The Dolphins are keen to give him every opportunity to succeed, but he has failed to do so. If the Dolphins want any hope this year, they need to address the trenches and give their quarterbacks some time to work with. General manager Chris Grier has been given every chance to improve the line, with free agency and multiple draft picks to work with. Yet, it is still a massive issue for Miami. With a top ten defense, and so many weapons to work with, the Dolphins need an elite lineman in that offense to really get them going.

The Dolphins next week will take on the Indianapolis Colts in Miami, where they look to improve to 2-2 on the year. The Colts will be looking for their first win of the year after starting 0-3. Dolphins second year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was placed on IR earlier in the week due to fractured ribs. Jacoby Brissett will start for the second week in a row. Tagovailoa is eligible to return no earlier than Week 6, when the Dolphins play the Jacksonville Jaguars.
