NFC South Win Totals for the 2021 Season

This is the breakdown of the Draftkings win totals for the NFC South in the upcoming 2021 NFL season, including the Saints and Buccaneers.
NFC South Win Totals

The sportsbooks have updated their win totals for all NFL teams after the NFL Draft. The NFC South has four teams that are unlikely to be at the bottom of the NFL in 2021. Each team is likely to be around the .500 mark if the sportsbook win totals are to be believed. Which team has the highest total? Which team is likely to finish at the floor of the division? These are the NFC South win totals for the 2021 season from the Draftkings Sportsbook.

NFC South Projected Win Totals

The reigning, defending Super Bowl Champions coming in at the top of this win total list is not likely to surprise anyone. The Buccaneers return every starter from the 2021 season and find themselves on the top of the list for most wins in the season. Everyone else on the list is close for the win totals.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Win Total: 11.5

The highest total for the NFC South belongs to the defending champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Tom Brady and crew should be a tough out for any team in the 2021 season. The Buccaneers came alive in the latter half of the 2020 season and rode that momentum to the title. This happened even after being swept by the New Orleans Saints on the season. This 11.5 is a huge total even for a 17-game season.

New Orleans Saints – Win Total: 9

Coming in at the second-highest total for the 2021 season is the New Orleans Saints. It is not shocking that the Saints win total has fallen with the retirement of Drew Brees. The Saints have won 10 or more games in each of the last four seasons. The total being at nine for the season might hold some value. The Saints have been winning games without Brees the past two seasons. Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston are not new to this offense. With either Hill or Winston under center, the Saints could have sneaky value on the year.

Atlanta Falcons – Win Total: 8

Close behind the Saints is the Atlanta Falcons at eight wins on the season. This is double the wins that the Falcons tallied last year. A new coaching staff and front office have invigorated the organization, as represented by the high win total in 2021. The addition of Kyle Pitts and the returning Matt Ryan and Julio Jones is sure to keep the Atlanta offense formidable. The defense will need to improve in 2021 to reach this total but there is no way to go but up from the dismal performance last season where the Falcons finished with the fourth high yards allowed in the NFL.

Carolina Panthers – Win Total: 7.5

The Carolina Panthers finish up NFC South win total list. The Panthers sit at almost eight wins in the 2021 season after finishing with 5 last year. Carolina will have their star running back in 2021 in Christian McCaffery and a new quarterback in Sam Darnold. Matt Rhule goes into his second year with higher expectations than his first. The Panthers were aggressive in their pursuit of Darnold this off-season and think they have their franchise quarterback. If Rhule can get some potential out of Darnold, the Panthers might be the safest team in the NFC South to exceed their Draftkings win total.

NFC South Outlook

If win totals are anything to go by, the NFC South is looking to be a close division in 2021. The Panthers are on the rise in their second year under Matt Rhule. Atlanta added weapon Kyle Pitts to their offense to go with their new coaching staff and front office. The Saints lost one of the most acclaimed quarterbacks of all time to retirement. Tampa Bay holds steady and will look to capture the NFC South title in 2021. Draftkings Sportbook likes the Buccaneers to capture the division. Second place seems to be wide open. One and a half games separate the three remaining teams. The projected win totals look as if the NFC South will be a tight race in the 2021 NFL Season.
