The Washington Football Team’s schedule has been released, which means it’s time for a schedule breakdown. The following is the ranking of each of Washington’s games in order from toughest to least difficult. Although we know that a team can pull off the upset on “Any Given Sunday” – these are the difficulty rankings based on what we know now.
Washington Football Team Schedule Breakdown
1. Week 10 – vs. Tampa Bay
Facing the reigning Super Bowl champions, with arguably the best roster in the league, ought to be quite a challenge for Washington. However, they were able to keep the score close in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs in January. To Washington’s advantage, they do have a bye week the week before facing Tampa Bay.
2. Week 6 – vs. Kansas City
Kansas City’s offense is loaded with so much talent that it will be difficult to stop them. However, if Washington’s pass rush can get to Mahomes without being forced to blitz, they may be able to pull out the win. However, Andy Reid will most likely come prepared – it will make for an interesting matchup.
3. Week 3 – @ Buffalo
The Buffalo Bills made it to the AFC Championship last season, and facing them in week 3 will be interesting. Will their red hot streak at the end of last season prior to the loss carry over? This will be on display in Week 3 when Washington makes their way to Buffalo for this matchup.
4. Week 7 – @ Green Bay
If Aaron Rodgers remains in Green Bay, this could be one of the tougher matchups Washington will see all year. Rodgers is one of the best in the league at handling pressure, and he and Davante Adams make for a dynamic duo. Whether Washington will be able to slow them down or not remains to be seen.
5. Week 16 – @ Dallas (Sunday Night Football)
Division matchups are always tough, especially on primetime on the road. Washington has what it takes to beat Dallas – they did it twice last season – but with Dak Prescott back, this division matchup will be tougher than anticipated.

6. Week 5 – vs. New Orleans
The Saints’ quarterback situation has yet to be discovered, but their roster is still all-around one of the best in the league. Washington’s pass rush against New Orleans’s quality offensive line will be interesting to see.
7. Week 15 – @ Philadelphia
Philly’s roster is not anything insane, but as this rivalry has always been a hard-hitting close game, it is always tougher to play division rivals like this on the road. If the Eagles can stay healthy, will Washington be able to do what they did to them last year and sweep them?
8. Week 18 – @ New York Giants
The Giants have made several moves over the offseason to build around Daniel Jones – but the question mark lies there. Will Daniel Jones be able to deal with the inevitable pressure Washington will produce against him? This game, as the final one of the season, could also potentially hold playoff and/or division title implications.
9. Week 14 – vs. Dallas
The home matchup, even against a division rival, is usually a significant advantage. As the Cowboys visit Washington at their home, the Football Team will have the first matchup against them on their hands.
10. Week 4 – @ Atlanta
With Atlanta’s high-powered offense, Washington’s secondary will need to step up. However, Atlanta’s offensive line will struggle against Washington’s pass rush.
11. Week 8 – @ Denver
Denver will have a long break – coming off a Thursday Night matchup the prior week will give them a 10 day rest. This will be Washington’s second road game in a row having faced Green Bay the week prior, so this could make for a potential upset.
12. Week 17 – vs. Philadelphia
The second of the series against Philadelphia – a classic rivalry, this time at Washington’s home stadium in Landover, Maryland.
13. Week 2 – vs. New York Giants (Thursday Night Football)
A primetime matchup at home with the New York Giants ought to make for a fun one. However, the Giants will still be building their team chemistry in their brand new offense, and Washington can get pressure on Daniel Jones.
14. Week 11 – @ Carolina
Although it could make for a tougher matchup than anticipated, this is overall one of the easier games on a schedule that is relatively tough.
15. Week 1 – vs. Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers offensive line, even with the addition of Rashawn Slater, is still less than ideal. Washington’s pass rush will be all over Justin Herbert throughout this game.

16. Week 12 – vs. Seattle
The Seahawks lost a lot of their talent over the offseason, and their defense is objectively and statistically one of the worst in the league. In addition, Seattle may be peaking ahead on their schedule to the 49ers game the week after, which could potentially affect their division title hopes significantly.
17. Week 13 – @ Las Vegas
The Washington Football Team schedule breakdown wraps up with an underwhelming matchup against an overmatched foe. Yet another game where Washington’s pass rush has the potential to dominate. Vegas revamped their offensive line entirely, leaving little protection for Derek Carr.
