Ryan Anderson, New York Giants, Agree to Contract
Ryan Anderson is currently viewed as a rotational player at best. He has never been able to crack the starting lineup for Washington. When he has made it on the field, his impact has essentially been non-existent. Unless he can miraculously grow into his potential, Anderson may find himself out of the league soon.
Ryan Anderson initially entered the league in 2017 as the 49th overall pick of the NFL draft. Selected by the Washington Football Team, Anderson has logged 55 solo tackles and six sacks in four seasons. Additionally, Anderson has registered five forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. This has all come from a total of only four career games started.
The best season of Ryan Anderson’s career was in 2019. He logged the only four starts of his career during 2019. In those four starts, Anderson registered four sacks and nine quarterback hits. While the production was certainly there, Anderson was unable to hold onto his starting role. Anderson played in only nine games last season.
Sadly, there is really not too much to say about Ryan Anderson. It is possible that he has just been buried behind a strong defensive depth chart with Washington. When Anderson did start, you could see flashes of a three-down player. For whatever reason though, he has never been able to duplicate his brief stint of production. The potential is there for Anderson to be a starter, so he will get at least one more season to prove himself. If nothing gives this coming season though, then Anderson may find himself out of the NFL.
