New Orleans Saints Easiest Games in 2020

New Orleans Saints Easiest Games in 2020: Here is a look at the eight easiest games on the Saints 2020 regular-season schedule.
New Orleans Saints Easiest

Last Word on Sports has already reviewed the most difficult games of 2020 for the New Orleans Saints. This article will delve into the New Orleans Saints easiest games in 2020, ranked 9-16 with 16 being the easiest. No game in the NFL is ever easy. Games nine through 12 could have easily been put on the difficult game list. Injuries and roster changes during the season could change this outlook.

New Orleans Saints Easiest Games in 2020

9. Week 12: at Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos are an emerging, young roster and will prove to be a difficult game for any team this year. By Week 12, many young-team issues should be worked out. Drew Lock, Courtland Sutton, Melvin Gordon, and the rest of the roster will be a great matchup for the Saints. The weather could be an issue in late November as well but this is one of the few cold outdoor games the Saints have in 2020.

10. Week 11: vs Atlanta Falcons

The second of the Falcons divisional matchup on the list. Working in the Falcons favor is the Saints coming off a Week 10 matchup against the 49ers; however, both Week 10 and Week 11 will be home games for the Saints. The Saints offense should feast on a weak Atlanta defense as the Saints begin their most difficult span of games of 2020.  New Orleans will need to not look past the Atlanta offense which can score points with the best in the league.

11. Week 5: vs Los Angeles Chargers

This will be the Saints third primetime game in the first five weeks of the season. The Chargers could be in quarterback flux by Week 5 and going into the Superdome on a Monday Night is less than ideal for Tyrod Taylor, much less Justin Herbert. The Chargers do have several weapons on the offensive side of the ball like Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler. This will probably not be enough to keep up with the Saints on Monday Night Football.

12. Week 4: at Detroit Lions

Going to the Lions in Week 4, the Saints should be starting to balance out from the usual early-year doldrums. The Lions will feel the brunt of this balance and not prove to be a difficult matchup for the Saints. Matt Patricia is going into 2020 on the hot seat already and this tough Week 4 draw will not help his cause. The Saints have enough offensive firepower to overcome a decent Detroit defense. Cameron Jordan and the New Orleans front will make it a rough day for Matthew Stafford as he will have trouble finding open receivers against an improved Saints secondary.

13. Week 8: at Chicago Bears

The Saints get lucky getting to go to Chicago in early November instead of later in the season. Barring abnormal weather, the Saints should get a clean field in this contest. This is all bad news for the Chicago Bears. Matt Nagy is another coach on the hot seat and will throw every trick in his playbook at the Saints. Nick Foles, Tarik Cohen, and Allen Robinson will do what they can but the improved Saints Linebackers along with Marshon Lattimore should be enough to slow the Bears.

14. Week 7: vs Carolina Panthers

A dangerous game for the Panthers, the Saints begin rounding into form usually during these mid-year weeks. The Saints also will be coming off a Bye week and looking to prove a point to not only the NFC South but the entire NFC in general. Should the Saints drop any game in the first five weeks, this will prove to be even a more difficult matchup for Teddy Bridgewater and the Panthers in their rebuilding year.

15. Week 2: at Las Vegas Raiders

The 2020 New Orleans Saints will look to play spoiler in Week 2 action, going into primetime and Monday Night Football against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders open their new stadium and would have most likely preferred an easier matchup to do so. More bad news for the Raiders is that the Saints usually play very well in Primetime.  Also, if the Saints do stumble in Week 1, this Week 2 matchup will also bring an angry team looking to prove a point. Jon Gruden will have Derek Carr and Josh Jacobs ready to play but New Orleans’ talent should pull away from the Raiders.

16. Week 17: at Carolina Panthers

This final game of the season could be meaningless for both teams. The Panthers are not expected to be a contender and could be resting young talent by this point. If the Saints have wrapped up a playoff seeding by this point, then both teams will be simply riding out this Week 17 matchup. If the Saints need this game for playoff seeding, the Panthers should still be the easiest matchup in the NFC South.
