The 2020-2021 NFL season is just around the corner, and Last Word on Pro Football is analyzing the schedules of all 32 teams. Each team’s 16-game slate will be split into its most difficult (1-8) and easiest games (9-16). This article will focus on the Chicago Bears easiest games of the 2020 schedule:

9. Week 10: vs. Minnesota Vikings
Last season, when the Vikings came to Chicago, the Bears owned them with a 16-6 victory. While this was a low-scoring game, the Bears benefited from Kirk Cousins imploding. Cousins made 27 completions for 36 attempts with 233 yards and no touchdowns. Chicago made sure Minnesota’s star receivers were quiet. The Bears defense successfully shut down the Vikings run game, too. Running back, Dalvin Cook, only had 14 carries for 35 yards and 2.5 yards per attempt with one touchdown. If this is any sort of preview, the Bears should absolutely win. The reason this game is ranked least easy is only that they’re a division rival.
10. Week 16: at Jacksonville Jaguars
Depending on who is under center at this point, Mitchell Trubisky or Nick Foles, this game could be interesting. The NFL would love to have a story of Foles facing his former team. Yet, even if Trubisky remains the starter, Foles can still share insight with the young quarterback. The Jaguars also no longer have star cornerback, Jalen Ramsey. So, this game should be easy for the Bears.
11. Week 4: vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Colts are starting the 2020 season with a new quarterback— Philip Rivers. The veteran quarterback had his worst season to date in 2019 and will be hoping to bounce back from his 20 interceptions. However, Rivers and the Colts will have to be sure they’re on the same page. The Colts had a tough season last year, ending with a 7-9 record. If Trubisky can make smart, quick decisions and the defense can show up, this game should prove easy.
12. Week 3: at Atlanta Falcons
In recent years, the Falcons have struggled. The last time Atlanta was a threat would be in the NFC Championship game 44-21 victory over the Green Bay Packers. Of course, the Falcons went on to lose a 21-3 halftime lead and handed the New England Patriots another Super Bowl ring. The Falcons have worked to no avail to get back to the postseason. This game should be easy for the Bears.
13. Week 1: at Detroit Lions
Even though this game is at Ford Field, the Bears should win handily. Chicago swept Detroit in last year’s two divisional meetings. The Lions had a 3-12-1 2019 record, placing them at the bottom of the NFC North. This game should be winnable for the Bears.
14. Week 6: at Carolina Panthers
The Panthers now have Teddy Bridgewater under center after releasing Cam Newton, who remains a free agent. Carolina is raving about Bridgewater. His notable five wins for the Saints in Brees’ absence certainly helped him land the three-year $63 million contract with the Panthers. While Carolina is right to be excited about Bridgewater, Chicago should have a fair shot at coming away with a W.
15. Week 2: vs. New York Giants
It’s no secret that the Giants have been struggling. Their last season of above .500 was in 2016 when the team went 11-5. However, their records for 2017-2019 were as follows: 3-13, 5-11, and 4-12. Since the Giants just last season made the decision to go with Daniel Jones over Eli Manning, they are still rebuilding in hope of re-establishing a winning culture. The Bears should have no problems beating New York.
16. Week 13: vs. Lions
Again, since Chicago easily bested Detroit in both divisional games last year, it’s likely to happen in 2020. The Lions have tons of work to do so they can once again be competitive.
