Yasir Durant 2020 NFL Draft Profile
Yasir Durant began his college career at the junior college level, playing for Arizona Western before enrolling at the Univesity of Missouri. Once he enrolled at Missouri, it took him four games into the 2017 season to earn the starting tackle job, he never gave it back. He held the position down for the next two-plus years. As a junior Durant only allowed eight QB pressures all year, ranking him higher than other big-name players like Alabama’s Jonah Williams. He has the size, standing six foot seven and weighed in at the NFL Combine at 331 pounds.
Yasir Durant attended high school in Philadelphia, PA and attended Imhotep Institute. Imhotep is a charter school that offers an African centered education. A charter school receives government funding but operates individually of the state it’s located in. Durant played football there and then enrolled at Arizona Western junior college. He played there for one year and was offered a scholarship to attend the University of Missouri. Coming out of JUCO he was ranked among the top sixty players at the junior college level.
Durant had a solid 2019 season for Missouri, but it was viewed as a bit of a slide from his 2018 season. He started all season at left tackle and did a good job protecting the quarterback. Durant attended the NFL Combine and put up average numbers. Yasir Durant put up 21 reps on the bench press and ran a 5.52 40 yard dash. He also jumped 25 inches in the vertical. Durant accepted a bid to play in the East/West Shrine Game and performed adequately. He was seen as a third to fourth-round pick heading into this season but has slid a bit in recent articles.

Bottom Line on Yasir Durant
Yasir Durant has all the size and tools to be a tackle in the NFL. He’s started for two-plus years in what is considered the best conference in football. Some scouts have questioned his work ethic, but his skill-set seems pretty solid. He began his college career at Arizona Western and then enrolled at Missouri. He did not improve his stock much at the NFL combine but did have a good week at the Shrine Game. He’s a consistent blocker and seems to have a high ceiling. I’m pretty certain we’ll hear his name called at some point during the draft. It might not be on day two, but he’s likely to be selected in rounds four through seven.
