2019
In Week 8 at the Kansas City Chiefs, Rodgers scrambled in the pocket on a third-and-one in the red zone. He slung a stunning touchdown pass to Jamaal Williams in the corner of the end zone. Many thought the quarterback was simply throwing the ball away, yet the Pack came away with a touchdown.
In Week 6 on Monday Night Football, the Packers got off to a shaky start as they faced off with the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field. The second-year wide receiver, Allen Lazard, came up huge for his team in the fourth quarter. Rodgers uncorked a 37-yard pass for a touchdown to the young receiver. This play was the beginning of the momentum shift of this division game.
2018
The Packers opened up the 2018 season at the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football. During the entire first half, the Packers offense sputtered, and the Bears defense had full control. In the second quarter, Rodgers sustained a knee injury and was carted off the field. Packers fans were pleasantly surprised to see their QB 1 return to the game about halfway through the third quarter. The Packers were down 0-20 when Rodgers came back under center.
Now, he had less time and an injured knee. He was visibly favoring his other leg, yet it didn’t seem to matter. Rodgers led an up-tempo offense to a 24-23 victory in Chicago. The can’t-miss play of this game would have to be when Rodgers heaved the ball 39 yards and placed it perfectly in Geronimo Allison’s arms for another touchdown.
2016
Aaron Rodgers came up clutch in the 2016 NFC Divisional round of the playoffs at the Dallas Cowboys. The fourth quarter winded down with the game tied at 31, and the Packers were on a third-and-20. Rodgers scrambled to his left and heaved a 35-yard, perfectly placed pass to Jared Cook on the sideline. Cook had incredible self-awareness and kept his feet in bounds, which helped put the Packers in field goal range. Mason Crosby‘s kick was good, and the Packers moved on to the NFC Championship game in Atlanta. It’s worth noting that the NFC Championship game was a huge disaster for the Pack, but that doesn’t take anything away from this phenomenal play. This pass that led Green Bay to a 34-31 victory even won the ESPY for Best Play that year.
Prior to the Divisional round in Dallas, the Packers faced the New York Giants at Lambeau Field in the 2016 Wildcard game. Rodgers had the team rolling into halftime with one of his classic Hail Mary passes. He hit Randall Cobb in the end zone, on fourth-and-two, from the Packers’ 48-yard line in the final five seconds of the second quarter.
On Monday Night Football at the Philadelphia Eagles, wide receiver Davante Adams exploded for 113 yards and two touchdowns. One of these touchdowns came on a first-and-10 play at the beginning of the second quarter. Rodgers threw a 20-yard dime in traffic to Adams for an improbable touchdown.
2015
In the 2015 NFC Divisional round of the playoffs at the Arizona Cardinals, Rodgers threw two Hail Mary passes. Back. To. Back. On fourth-and-20, backed up into their own end zone, Rodgers hit Jeff Janis for a gain of 61 yards. Then, with only five seconds left in regulation, Rodgers heaved another Hail Mary to the end zone. Janis caught the ball to tie the game at 20 and send it to overtime. The Cardinals won by a score of 26-20, but this is still quite a game to remember for Packers fans.
On December 3rd of this same year, Green Bay had a rough game in Detroit. They were down 0-17 at the half. The Pack came all the way back, and an extra play at the end of the game sealed the 27-23 victory. Because of a face mask penalty called against Detroit, the Packers had one more chance. Rodgers rolled right and hit the tight end, Richard Rodgers, in the end zone for a 61-yard Hail Mary touchdown with no time left on the clock. The Miracle in Motown, as this play is frequently called, even won the ESPY for Best Play of the year.
2010
On a third-and-10 with just under six minutes left in Super Bowl XLV, Aaron Rodgers threw with pin-point accuracy to Greg Jennings for a 31-yard gain and a first down. This play was quite the dagger and put the Packers in field goal range. After Crosby made the field goal, Green Bay led the Pittsburgh Steelers by a score of 31-25. The Packers got a huge defensive stop to put this game away and take home the Lombardi Trophy.
