Fantasy Football Playoffs Preparation

This article contains quick preparation tips to help you win in the Fantasy Football Playoffs. Give yourself the advantage you need.
Fantasy Football Playoffs

It is the most wonderful time of the year. This is what you have been preparing for all fall. The Fantasy Football Playoffs! There are some tricks that will help give you an advantage against your opponents and hopefully help you bring home the gold.

Fantasy Football Playoffs Preparation Tips

Play Defense

In redraft playoffs, it is time to make your roster lean. This will allow you to block your opponent from getting the moves that he or she needs. In most formats teams are not rolling out Tyrell Williams in the fantasy football playoffs. It is more than likely that you will not be starting your fourth or fifth receiver in a 2-WR format. Cut the dead weight. Use these valuable roster spots in order to hurt your opponent’s team. If your opponent has been streaming defenses then add some defenses and force them to start a subpar team. Fantasy football is not just about starting the best playoff it is about outplaying your league mates.

Pick up Handcuffs

If you have extra spots on your roster make sure that you high value handcuffs. Obliviously we can’t be 100% sure that the next man up will be the right person to own, but you want lottery tickets. In 2018, Damien Williams led many teams to championships and was mostly unowned prior to the playoffs. Having this type of player is a real advantage. It is possible that you might never start the guy, but that is okay. Again part of the game is keeping them away from your league mates.

Stick With Your Players

If you are in the fantasy football playoffs you likely have a good team with good players. Don’t overthink and do things like start Ryan Tannehill over Aaron Rodgers. It has been proven that streaming quarterbacks is effective and that is fine if that is how you got to were you are. So many people try to get edgy and start someone off the wire over proven talent. Fantasy Football is about matchups, but there are many people who are matchup proof. Don’t start someone who could tank your season when you have a stud. Stick with the people who brought you to the dance. You will not be able to live with yourself if you bench Drew Brees for Jameis Winston and then Winston ends up with negative points. It is much easier to live with a blow up on your bench then a disaster in your lineup.

Load on QBs on Championship Sunday

In most leagues, the tiebreaker in the highly unlikely event of a tie is bench points scores. So during Sunday morning on Championship week add as many quarterbacks as possible. Since QBs usually are the highest scorers you will more than likely end up having the advantage in the result of a tie.

Have Fun

At the end of the day, we play Fantasy Football to have fun. This game is exciting and depressing at times. Just remember that you can’t control everything that happens. Poor performance will happen. Injuries will happen. Enjoy watching the games, or preferably Redzone, and remember that you gave it your best. Hopefully, these tips will give you a slight advantage in the game we love.
