Russell Wilson Headlines Week 8 DFS Stack Plays

Russell Wilson; Have no fear, as I’m about to break it all down for you and give you my top three Fanduel DFS stacks for Week 8.
Russell Wilson

The NFL season has officially reached its midway point and I think we’d all like for things to slow down a little bit. Every year it seems like we blink and all of a sudden, we’re talking about the playoffs. Nevertheless, the show must go on and this week’s FanDuel slate is jam-packed with talent. It’s always nice to see a large group of talented players on the slate but with it comes a ton of difficult decisions. But, have no fear, as I’m about to break it all down for you and give you my top three FanDuel stacks of Week 8.

Russell Wilson Headlines Week 8 DFS Stack Plays

Russell Wilson ($8,600) & Tyler Lockett ($7,200)

I’m starting off my stacks this week with the top quarterback in this week’s slate. Wilson comes in at a high price but should be well worth it against the Atlanta Falcons and their 32nd ranked pass defense. Plain and simple, the Falcons defense has been astronomically bad this season. In all but one game, they have given up at least 20 points to the opposing quarterback and that list includes guys like Marcus Mariota, Jacoby Brissett and rookie Kyler Murray. Wilson should have a field day in Atlanta come Sunday.

Now on to Wilson’s favorite target, Tyler Lockett. For years, Lockett has been an extremely underrated player and finally this year that narrative seems to be changing. Through seven games in 2019, Locket has scored double-digit fantasy points six times while getting in the end zone four times. He has become a lot more than just the deep threat people thought he once was. He has become reliable not only between the 20s but in the red zone as well. When it comes to DFS, you’re always looking for upside and there isn’t a duo this week that brings more than these two. Get them in your lineups!

Jared Goff ($8,000) & Cooper Kupp ($7,700)

Through six games in 2019, there may not have been an offense in the entire NFL more difficult to figure out than the Los Angeles Rams. All the talent is there, Todd Gurley has been “healthy” and yet something just didn’t look right. A lot can change in a week though. In Week 7, the Rams went into Atlanta and beat the snot out of the Falcons and looked very good doing it. Now look ahead at their matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals this week and you have to love their chances for a repeat performance. The Bengals have been atrocious on defense all year long and I fully expect Sean McVay and Jared Goff to take advantage of that. Through seven games, the Bengals have given up at least 20 points to every single quarterback they’ve faced. Their secondary has been a joke and they aren’t putting pressure on anybody which bodes well for Goff and his receivers.

Speaking of those talented receivers, my top choice this week is Cooper Kupp. He’s had a couple of tough games in a row, but this sets up to be the perfect “get right” game for him. He should primarily be lining up against slot corner B.W. Webb who has struggled mightily in man coverage. Expect the Rams to win big in this one with Goff looking for his favorite target Cooper Kupp over and over again.

Daniel Jones ($7,000) & Evan Engram ($6,300)

Here is my final stack and it’s not one for the faint of heart. I always like to find one value stack and I think Jones and Engram are the perfect picks. They will be facing a Detroit Lions defense that just made Kirk Cousins look like Joe Montana and that was before trading away defensive back Quandre Diggs. Since his breakout performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jones has definitely cooled off but a lot of that has to do with the difficult matchups he’s faced. That shouldn’t be an issue this week against the 25th ranked Lions pass defense.

When it comes to receiving options, Evan Engram is just about all the New York Giants have. Things could be worse though considering Engram is currently fifth amongst all tight ends in fantasy points scored and that’s with missing a game. He’s been heavily targeted by Jones when healthy and faces a Lions defense giving up over 10 fantasy points a game to tight ends. Engram may need to get into the end zone for this stack to meet expectations but with how much volume he’s been seeing, there’s no reason to believe that can’t happen. If you’re someone who likes to load up on high end running backs and receivers, this is the perfect stack for you.
