Tytus Howard 2019 NFL Draft Profile
Tytus Howard is likely to become the first HBCU prospect drafted in this years’ draft. Howard has a real chance to be taken in the second round and or even a late first round pick is not out of the question.
It’s hard to believe that a man this size played both football and basketball in high school. But that’s why this kid is so special. Howard wasn’t recruited at all. He had no other option but to walk onto a field at Alabama State and garner attention. Howard replaced another draft pick Jylan Ware at left tackle when starting his career. Ware was drafted in the seventh round by the New York Giants.
During his time at Alabama State, he added over 100 pounds to his frame and was convinced that the offensive tackle position fits him perfectly. After his freshman year, he was awarded a scholarship. Currently, he’s slated to be one of the top offensive tackles in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Bottom Line
Howard put on nearly 100 pounds since high school. The hard work in the weight room and focus has put him in a rare category coming from an HBCU school. Relative to his size, Howard is one of the best athletes in this class. He from a small town looking to make a big name for himself on the next level. Also, Howard didn’t flinch when going up against the best of the best in the Senior Bowl.
Looking to be the first draft pick from Alabama State since 2007. Nothing is too big of a stage for Howard. Above all, his likable personality and determination are going to bring him places. Howard is a coach’s dream.
