Defensive tackle Brandon Mebane has re-signed with the Los Angeles Chargers, per Ian Rapoport. Contract details are pending at this time. Mebane spent the last three years with the Chargers.

Brandon Mebane Signing New Deal With Los Angeles Chargers
Brandon Mebane was drafted in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He played in the Pacific Northwest until 2015 when he signed with the then-San Diego Chargers as a free agent.
Although the loud secondary players overshadowed him, he played an integral role in shaping the Legion of Boom into arguably the greatest defense in National Football League history.
His best seasons were 2011 and 2012. In 2011, he had 56 tackles including 40 solo tackles and one pass defense. The next season, he collected 56 tackles including 31 solo tackles, three sacks, and three passes defended.
Mebane was on the Seahawks teams that got to back-to-back Super bowls (XLVIII and XLIX). During Super Bowl XLVIII, Mebane had three tackles to help the Legion of Boom annihilate what was, on paper, the greatest offense in NFL history.
The 12-year veteran is still going strong and has improved over his play over the past three seasons. In the three seasons spent with the Chargers, he has continuously racked up more tackles the next year than he did the previous one (21 then 30 then 40).
In 2016, Mebane got to live a defensive lineman dream when he intercepted and returned for five yards a pass from Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
This past season, Mebane and his family lost their prematurely born daughter Makenna Mebane. According to Eric D. Williams on ESPN, “Makenna was born November 12thwith trisomy 13. Because of her defective heart condition, she did not have a heart valve, which required surgery to fix.”
But in a testament to his faith and strength, the man behind the facemask did not let this horrifying moment define his year. After missing four games including the Wild Card win over the Baltimore Ravens, Mebane came back for the Divisional Round game at the New England Patriots.
Unfortunately, his team came up short.
