Green Bay Packers Sign Tramon Williams

Williams went undrafted out of Louisiana Tech in the 2006 NFL Draft and was later signed by the Houston Texans. He was released by the Texans following the 2006 preseason and was signed by the Green Bay Packers on November 29th, 2006. Williams made Green Bay’s 53-man roster in 2007 and had a breakout year in 2008, when he intercepted five passes and forced two fumbles, starting in nine of 16 games. By 2009, Williams had taken over the number two starting corner role opposite Charles Woodson following an injury to Al Harris. In 2010, he became Green Bay’s full-time second corner.

2010 was Williams’s best year as a pro. He set career highs in interceptions (six), pass breakups (20), and fumble recoveries (three). He was selected to his first and only Pro Bowl that season and played an integral role in helping Green Bay win Super Bowl XLV, as his last-minute interception sealed the win over the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2010 NFC Wild Card and his pick six on the last play of the first half the following round helped build a commanding 28-14 halftime lead over the Atlanta Falcons.

Post-2010

Williams continued his success in Green Bay all the way through 2014. From 2011-2014, he intercepted a total of 12 passes and broke up a total of 62 passes. In his time in Green Bay, he recorded a total of 28 interceptions and 114 pass breakups. Following the 2014 season, he was released by Green Bay and signed with the Cleveland Browns. In his two seasons with the Browns, Williams recorded two interceptions and 14 pass breakups in 27 games played. He was released after the 2016 season and signed with the Arizona Cardinals prior to the start of the 2017 season. With the Cardinals in 2017, Williams recorded two interceptions and 12 pass breakups in 13 total games played. For his career, Williams has intercepted 36 total passes, including four in the postseason.
