One of the most crucial parts of playing fantasy football is playing the match ups. Now some players are considered match up proof. You aren’t going to sit Tom Brady, Le’Veon Bell or Antonio Brown. Below are some week 15 fantasy football starts and sits to help you to win your week 15 match up.
Week 15 Fantasy Football Starts and Sits
Starts
Cam Newton
Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has been rather inconsistent in his production throughout this season. He is currently ranked as the fifth best quarterback in fantasy football. Newton is averaging around 19 fantasy points per game this season. In Week 15 he is going up against the Green Bay Packers who are giving up the fifth most fantasy points to quarterbacks in 2017. In week 14 they gave up 18 fantasy points to Cleveland Browns quarterback DeShone Kizer. In a must win game to stay in the playoff race Newton should produce solid fantasy numbers this week.
Dak Prescott
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is coming off one of his best games of the year. In week 14 Prescott scored 26 fantasy points, his highest points total since week nine. With the offense finding it’s stride again Prescott should continue to produce solid fantasy numbers this week. In week 14 he is facing the Oakland Raiders who are giving up the ninth most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.
Marshawn Lynch
Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch has been one of the players at his position over the last three weeks scoring touchdowns and finishing with double digit fantasy points each game. Lynch is a solid match up next week against the Dallas Cowboys who are giving up the 16th most fantasy points to running backs so far the season. He should continue to produce solid numbers in the fantasy football playoffs in week 15.
Alex Collins
Baltimore Ravens running back Alex Collins has been the short yardage bruising running back the Ravens have been looking for the last few seasons. Collins has posted 11 or more fantasy points in four straight games. He is going up against the Cleveland Browns who gave up over 25 fantasy points to Green Bay running backs last week. Collins is a solid RB2 this week.
Keenan Allen
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Keenan Allen has been the best wide receiver in fantasy over the last four weeks. He has totaled over 482 yards and scored four touchdowns. Allen has averaged around 18 fantasy points per game. He has another solid match up against the Kansas City Chiefs who are giving up the second most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
Golden Tate
Detroit Lions wide receiver Golden Tate has been a solid WR2 this season. He is averaging around eight fantasy points per game. He is currently ranked as the 18th best receiver in fantasy. Tate is coming off a solid performance last week with 14 fantasy points. In Week 15 he is at home against divisional opponent the Chicago Bears. The Bears are giving up the 15th most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.
Kyle Rudolph
Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph has been one of the most consistent tight ends in fantasy over the last few weeks. He has scored four touchdowns in the last three games. Rudolph is averaging 11 fantasy points per game over his last three games. He is currently ranked as the sixth best tight end in fantasy. He has a solid match up against the Cincinnati Bengals who have been a decent match up against tight ends this season. Rudolph should continue to produce solid fantasy numbers in week 15.
Hunter Henry
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Hunter Henry has been one of the best ends in fantasy football over the last three games. He has scored a touchdown in two out of the three. Henry has also totaled 207 yards receiving. He is currently averaging around 10 fantasy points per game over his last three games. In week 15 he has a solid match up against the Chiefs who have been a solid match up for tight ends so far this season.
Sits
Andy Dalton
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton was on a solid three game stretch of 18 or more fantasy points per game. However, last week he struggled and only scored eight fantasy points against the Bears. In week 15 he has another difficult match up against one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Vikings are currently giving up the fifth fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks so far this season. Dalton is a risky play in what is for most leagues the first round of the playoffs.
Jared Goff
Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff has been one of the biggest surprises so far this season. He has been a solid quarterback in fantasy but has been more of a match up play over the last few weeks. He is coming off a somewhat disappointing week 14 game where he totaled only 14 fantasy points in a high scoring game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Goff draws another tough match up in week 15 on the road against the Seattle Seahawks which has traditionally been a tough place to play for quarterbacks. While Seattle’s defense has had some leaks lately and been more forgiving on quarterbacks Goff could be in for another tough game on Sunday.
Frank Gore
The ageless wonder, Indianapolis Colts running back Frank Gore is coming off a career game were he had 36 carries for 130 yards at 34 years old. While Gore continued to amaze people and produce solid fantasy numbers at an age that most running backs retire he draws a tough match up and week 15. Gore faces the Denver Broncos who seem to have gotten back on track last week with a shut out of a solid New York Jets offense. With the struggles that the Colts have had on offense Gore is a risky flex play this weekend in the fantasy playoffs.
Lamar Miller
Houston Texans running back Lamar Miller has been a decent flex play throughout most of the season. He is currently ranked as the 11th best running back in fantasy and is averaging around 10 fantasy points per game. In week 15 he is going up against the best defense in fantasy this year, the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jags are currently giving up the eighth fewest fantasy points to running backs this season. Miller is not much more than a flex play in a tough match up this week.
Mike Evans
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans might be one of the biggest busts in fantasy football this year. He is currently ranked 26th among players at the position in fantasy. He was drafted on average as the fourth receiver in the first round. Evans currently only has four games of 10 or more fantasy points this season. He also has six games of six or fewer fantasy points this season. While he does have a decent match up against the Atlanta Falcons in week 15 he is a risky play with the struggles that he has had over the season.
Sterling Shepherd
New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shephard has struggled along with the rest of the his team’s offense over the last few weeks. He has also dealt with a few nagging injuries which have limited him and kept him out of games. Shepherd only has three games of seven or more fantasy points and six of five or fewer this season. In week 15 Shepherd is going up against divisional opponent the Philadelphia Eagles. Philly is currently giving up the fewest fantasy points to wide receivers over the last four weeks.
Tyler Kroft
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Kroft has been a solid streaming option for fantasy owners for most of the season. Kroft has scored over five fantasy points in five of his last seven games. In week 15 Kroft has a tough matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are giving up the third fewest fantasy points per game to tight ends this season. While the tight end position is not very deep it might be hard to trust Kroft this week.
Cameron Brate
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cameron Brate was one of the best tight ends in fantasy through week eight. He averaged around 10 points per game. Since then he has only scored over two fantasy points once. Brate is splitting time with rookie O.J Howard. He also has a tough matchup against the Atlanta Falcons who are giving up the seventh fewest fantasy points to tight ends this season.
