The Jacksonville Jaguars Week 14 matchup with the Seattle Seahawks is lurking. This game will be pivotal for both teams. Both the Jaguars and Seahawks are vying for playoff spots. The Jaguars have missed the playoffs every year since 2007. Sitting at 8-4 and tied for the AFC South division lead with the Titans, the Jags are in a comfortable spot. But the chance to make the playoffs becomes more intriguing each and every week. The 2017 season for Jacksonville has been their best in a long time. The team needs to pull out a win to keep pace with the Titans in the division heading down the stretch.
Week 14 Jacksonville Jaguars Keys to Victory
The Jaguars have become one of the better teams in the AFC this season. With wins over Pittsburgh and Baltimore already, the team is riding on a high note. That is thanks in part to their elite defense and stellar running back Leonard Fournette. The rookie has carried the Jags rushing attack all season, and is making his case for the Pro Bowl. Aside from all of that, Jacksonville has a must-see match-up this Sunday. As the Seahawks come to town fresh off a win against the Philadelphia Eagles, they are hungry for another win. But if the stifling Jaguars defense has anything to say, that won’t be the case for the 8-4 Seahawks.
Keys To Victory: Offense
Week 14 will be a pivotal week for every team in the NFL. For Jacksonville, a win has a lot of meaning. Beating the Seahawks would set them up to possibly have a better playoff spot as they would sit at 9-4 for 2017. The offense has to get clicking, and it starts with Blake Bortles. The fourth-year quarterback has been effective when he needed to be during this season. For his team to get a win, he has to be on point throwing the ball. Missing Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson has been somewhat of a factor for the Jags receivers. But rookie Dede Westbrook and Marqise Lee have both stepped up in big time roles. Fournette also has to be efficient in the running game. The Seahawks have a tremendous defense that enjoys to stop the run. Fournette is a back that can power through and gain extra yardage. He will have to do just that in order to help the team win.
Keys To Victory: Defense
Jacksonville’s defense has been playing their best ever. A.J. Bouye, Jalen Ramsey, and Barry Church are three of the best defensive players in the NFL. This defense has been putting up numbers unlike any other team so far. If they can continue that, Seattle’s offense might have trouble capitalizing on drives to reach the end zone. Penalties on the elite secondary have become somewhat of an issue, but the Jags can fix that by playing smart defense. Something they have done all season, they will need to continue doing in this game to stop Russell Wilson and the electrifying Seahawks’ offense. If the defense can force three and outs most of the game, the offense should be able to capitalize and score. The defense has been the talk of this team, and may continue to be so after this week.
