Week One Kansas City Chiefs Keys to Victory

Chiefs Keys to Victory: Kansas City is considered the underdog, but there is still chances for the Chiefs to come out victorious.

NFL Football is right around the corner. In fact, the season begins this Thursday. The Kansas City Chiefs will play in the very first game of the 2017 NFL season as the Chiefs take on the reigning Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots. Kansas City finds themselves in a tricky situation, taking on arguably the best team in the NFL to start off the season. This will be a test for both sides, as they both attempt to display their talent and start the season with a check in the win category. Kansas City is considered the underdog, but there is still chances for the Chiefs to come out victorious. There are various combinations for the Chiefs to come out on top, but the Kansas City Chiefs have three keys to victory, and if used correctly, they could find themselves winning this game with no problems.

Week One Kansas City Chiefs Keys to Victory

1. Create Pressure On Tom Brady

Facts are facts, as everyone knows Tom Brady is an incredible quarterback, even if some NFL fanatics try to decline this. His ability to find the open receiver, and his composure on the field make his indelible arm more than difficult to stop. But luckily enough for Kansas City, they own one of the more talented defensive fronts in all of the NFL.

Justin Houston agrees with this strategic scheme, as he believes a key to winning is limiting Brady ‘s chances to make plays. Defensive linemen such as Chris Jones, Bennie LoganDee Ford, and Derrick Johnson need to play their hearts out, and help fellow teammate Houston make Brady wishing the night would end. Applying pressure on Brady all game could result in costly turnovers committed by the Patriots. If the Chiefs accomplish this, this could help the Chiefs steal a win away from a star-studded team.

2. Control the Offensive Tempo

What is a way to control the offensive tempo in favor of the Chiefs? The answer is simple – keep Brady and his offense off of the field. Yes, this is easier said than done, but if the Chiefs eat away the clock, and stay consistent offensively, offensive tempo could obviously hurt the Patriots.

Alex Smith is a conservative style quarterback. This is something that tends to upset many fans in Kansas City who believe he never takes risks downfield, and fails to find the open wide receiver further than five yards from the line of scrimmage. But in a game like Thursday, his conservative style could come in handy. If Smith plays the game play by play, with little yard gained each possession, with consistent flow down the field, this could keep Brady off the field more than he is used to. This is a simple answer which could help the Chiefs chances on winning. Yet, it is a very difficult strategy to accomplish in the professional level.

3. Play Kansas City Chiefs Football

Andy Reid is a football mastermind. Reid is known for his “west coast style” offense, which involves trickery plays, tireless contribution, and brings up the unexpected in a blink of an eye. The head coach brought this over to Kansas City, and with his personnel on the offensive side of the football, it works.

Reid’s unique and strategic play-calling keeps the defenses on their heels and waiting for the trickiest of trick plays to develop at any second of the game. This is an advantage to Kansas City. If Reid can incorporate his typical strategy into Thursday’s game, it could leave the Patriots defense guessing.

This key is simple as well. The team needs to come out loose, and ready to play the game they love. If the team can accomplish this, anything is possible. Many teams, and analysts doubt the Chiefs year in, and year out, yet, it seems that the team always brings the answers season after season.

Expect Kansas City to have kinks every once in awhile in week one, but still expect this team to come out firing right out of the gate. It all officially begins Thursday night Chiefs Kingdom, be ready, as now is the time for this team to show what they are made of.
