Adam Jones Suspended For First Game

Cornerback Adam Jones has been suspended by the NFL yet again, this time because of an arrest that took place back in January.

Cincinnati Bengals corner Adam Jones has been suspended without pay, and will miss Cincinnati’s first game of the season against the Baltimore Ravens. Back in January, “Pacman” Jones was arrested for disorderly conduct. The troubled corner has been arrested at least nine times, and this is far from his first suspension.

Adam Jones Suspended For First Game

According to reports, Pacman shoved a security guard, being combative with police officers during his arrest, and spitting on a nurse during his booking. Oddly enough, this isn’t the first time Jones spat on a woman. He did the same thing to woman before being arrested back in 2006. It’s shocking that he’s only missing one game.

This could be troubling news for the Bengals, who need to beat the Baltimore Ravens to keep footing in a very competitive AFC North. The Ravens currently have Jeremy Maclin, Mike Wallace, and the speedy Breshad Perriman as receivers.

Pacman Jones has been getting in legal trouble for over a decade, and it’s troubling that he’s still allowed to play in the NFL. A one game suspension for a guy who has proven to be remorseless and violent on multiple occasions? Who else remembers when he tried to kill Amari Cooper a few years ago?

Bengals in Trouble

After five straight playoff seasons, the Cincinnati Bengals only won six games and missed the post-season. Head coach Marvin Lewis is on the hot seat, and another bad year could be enough to cost him his job.

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis named Pacman Jones the mentor for rookie tailback, Joe Mixon, who also has off the field issues. Hopefully this ends up being a “do as I say, not as I do” situation, or the tradition of Bengals getting in legal trouble may continue.
