Elvis Dumervil has officially signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Dumervil was released before free agency began from the Baltimore Ravens. He spent his previous four season with the Baltimore organization where he switched to playing linebacker. Before that he played defensive end for the Denver Broncos for his first six years of his career.

Elvis Dumervil Signs with
Dumervil is coming off a season in which he suffered multiple injuries that kept him off the field for half of the season. Being 33-years-old next season the Ravens had no choice but to cut the veteran. He recorded just nine tackles and three sacks in his eight games played.
Dumervil was once considered one of the best at his position. Just two years ago he was selected to the Pro Bowl and the year before a First-Team All Pro. His talent has never been questioned and if he can recover from his previous injuries and remain healthy the (TEAM) will be stealing him from the rest of the league.
He is coming into the season with 99 career sacks and over 250 career tackles. He’s shown that he can still be a top player even if he isn’t the teams starter. In 2014, starting just two games, Dumervil finished third in the league in sacks with 17. This is also tied for his career high, as he led the league with 17 sacks in 2009 with the Denver Broncos.
Dumervil attended Louisville in his college days. His career really took off in 2004 as he led the team with 10 sacks and helped lead a good defense to an 11-1 record. 2005 however, was one of the best seasons by a defensive end in NCAA history. He broke the single game sacks record with six against the Kentucky Wildcats. He finished the season with 20.5 sacks, the best in Big East history, and 10 forced fumbles. These are still records in the NCAA. He would win the Bronco Nagurski trophy and the Tim Hendricks award. He would also win Big East player of the year and be selected as a First Team All-American.
