The Seattle Seahawks are coming off another solid season. The team finished first in there division. They finished 10-5-1, made the playoffs but fell in the divisional round to the Atlanta Falcon. The Seahawks have been solid over the last few seasons. They have finished with at least 10 wins in the last five seasons, and have made the playoffs five seasons straight. Qaurterback
One of the main reasons the Seahawks have been successful is due to there quarterback Russell Wilson. Wilson has been one of the most successful quarterbacks over last few seasons. In 2016 he threw for 4219 yards 21 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also run for 259 yards and a touchdown. Wilson finished the season with 268 fantasy points averaging 16 points per game. Wilson finished as the 11th ranked quarterback in fantasy. He was rather inconsistent last season as he had nine games with 14 fantasy points or fewer. Wilson is a solid quarterback one for fantasy owners next season. He is worth a middle round draft pick next season.
Running Back
The Seahawks have used a running back by committee over the last few season, mostly due to the fact that they couldn’t keep a running back healthy. There least back was Thomas Rawls with 445 total yards with three touchdowns. Rawls dealt with several injuries throughout the season as he missed seven games. When healthy he was inconsistent as he had five games of five or fewer fantasy points.
The next leading back for the Seahawks was rookie C.J Prosise. He had 380 yards and only one touchdown. He is a electronic and athletic running back but was injured most of his rookie season. C.J only played in six games his rookie season. When he played he averaged six points per game. With the Seahawks adding running back Eddie Lacy the back field is now becoming very crowded. Rawls will most likely be the hand cuff to Lacy. Prosise will see passing down and third downs. Lacy is worth a fifth round pick and Prosise is worth a late round pick in drafts this season.
Wide Receiver
Over the last two seasons wide receiver Doug Baldwin had been one of the best receivers in the NFL and fantasy. In 2016 Baldwin had 94 receptions for 1,128 yards and seven touchdowns. He also threw a touchdown. Baldwin finished the season with 159 fantasy points averaging around 10 fantasy points per game last season. He finished as the 10th ranked wide receiver in fantasy. Baldwin is a solid wide receiver two with upside and is worth a third or fourth round pick in next seasons drafts.
The next leading receiver for the Seahawks was Tyler Lockett with 597 receiving yards and a touchdown one touchdown. He also ran for 114 yards and one touchdown. He finished the season with 83 fantasy points but was very inconsistent as he had eight games of four or fewer fantasy points. Lockett is worth a late round pick in next seasons drafts.
Tight End
The Seahawks made a big splash on free agency in 2015 when they traded for tight end Jimmy Graham from the New Orleans Saints. Besides his injury late in 2015 he has been solid. In 2016 Graham finished with 923 yards and six touchdowns. He finished the season with 124 fantasy points and averaged eight fantasy points per game last season. He finished as the fourth ranked tight end last season. Graham is one of the best tight ends in the NFL and fantasy. He is worth a middle round pick in drafts next season.
Kicker
The Seahawks kicker last season was Steven Hauschka and he finished as the 12th ranked kicker with 130 fantasy points. He averaged eight fantasy points per game. Hauschka was a solid fantasy kicker but did have seven games of six or fewer fantasy points. He has left the Seahawks and signed with the Buffalo Bills and is worth a late round draft pick.
Defense
The Seahawks have had one of the best defense in the NFL and fantasy over the past four season. It has been one of the main reasons for the team’s success. They took a step back last season in fantasy finishing as the 12th ranked defense. They finished with 113 fantasy points averaging seven fantasy points per game. The Seahawks defense is solid and worth a late round pick in next seasons drafts.
The Seattle Seahawks are one of the best teams in the NFL they have a solid offense and one of the best defense in the league. The key to the Seahawks success is stay healthy and get there running game going. If they can get there running game going they should repeat there 2016 success and make a run at the playoffs.
