The 40 yard dash is far and away the most overanalyzed part of the draft process. A player can have incredible film and display consistently adequate playing speed and then be questioned for running a slow 40 yard dash. Perhaps scouts and NFL teams are paying too much attention to track speed at times and overlooking the true on-field product.
