There were some big names that made the NFL Week 13 Injury Report, which could affect their teams playoff chances, especially when there are only four weeks remaining in the 2016 season. Two of the players who made the injury report in Week 13 are safety Earl Thomas of the Seattle Seahawks and wide receiver Cecil Shorts of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both players were lost for the season due to their injuries. Below is a roundup of the other significant injuries that occurred in Week 13, as well as updates.

NFL Week 13 Injury Report

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Wide Receiver Cecil Shorts

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Cecil Shorts suffered what can only be described as one of the worst injuries any player in the NFL could have suffered. Shorts told ESPN’s Britt McHenry that he suffered a dislocated knee and tore his ACL, MCL, and his PCL. Shorts does plan to be back next season after rehabbing his injuries, but there was no timetable given for his return.

Seattle Seahawks – Safety Earl Thomas

Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas broke his tibia Sunday night against the Carolina Panthers and will miss the remainder of the season, leaving a big hole in Seattle’s secondary. The Seahawks don’t know if Thomas will require surgery, but the safety apparently sent a text message to ESPN’s Ed Werder stating that he doesn’t plan on having surgery. For now, the Seahawks will go with third-year pro Steve Terrell at safety.

Buffalo Bills – wide receiver Percy Harvin

On Monday, the Buffalo Bills placed wide receiver Percy Harvin on the reserve/non-football injury list after the migraines that have plagued his career returned. It’s not yet known if Harvin plans on retiring.

Miami Dolphins – Linebacker Kiko Alonso

Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase told reporters on Monday that Kiko Alonso might be available to play on Sunday when Miami takes on the Arizona Cardinals. Alonso underwent surgery to repair a broken thumb that he suffered in the Dolphins 38-6 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

Atlanta Falcons – Wide Receiver Julio Jones

On Monday, Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn told reporters that Julio Jones is currently battling turf toe, but that the injury doesn’t appear to serious, as reported by ESPN’s Vaughn McClure.

New York Giants – Defensive End Jason Pierre-Paul

Jason Pierre-Paul injured his groin in the first half of the New York Giants‘ 24-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The Giants sent Pierre-Paul for an MRI on Monday, but have yet to release the results, and his status for Sunday’s matchup against the NFC East leading Dallas Cowboys (11-1) is unclear.

Denver Broncos – Quarterback Trevor Siemian

Trevor Siemian missed the Denver Broncos‘ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a strained foot that required him to wear a walking boot. As of Monday, Siemian was no longer wearing the boot, but Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak has yet to install him as the team’s starter for next week’s game against the Tennessee Titans.

Kansas City Chiefs – Wide Receiver Jeremy Maclin

Jeremy Maclin has missed the Kansas City Chiefs‘ last four games with a strained groin, but the team is hopeful that they will have their star wide receiver back for Thursday Night’s matchup against the AFC West leading Oakland Raiders (10-2).
