Packers Defensive Flaws
The Packers are starting to get to the point where their season is going to be on the line. If they want to have any chance of making the playoffs this year, their defense needs to step up. The Packers defense allowed 47 points in the game. Marcus Mariota threw for 295 yards and four touchdowns. Demarco Murray would throw for another touchdown on a trick play.
The defense, who was ranked among the top against the run, gave up 162 total yards on the ground. 75 of those yards came on a single play, one that would put the Packers down by seven within the first minute of the game for the second straight week.
Run Game Still an Issue
The Packers got a legitimate running back this week in James Starks. Starks, for those that remember, was the lead back on the Super Bowl winning team. He has been a valuable backup to Eddie Lacy for the past three years. However, he seems to have slowed down, due to his age and his injury suffered earlier this season. Starks carried the ball just seven times for 33 yards, 11 coming on one play.
Rodgers, once again, was the most efficient runner in the game. He scampered for 27 yards on three carries. He would score the lone rushing touchdown for Green Bay. Rodgers also had a mediocre day through the air. He completed 31 of 51 pass attempts for 371 yards and two touchdowns. The two interceptions would be the blemish on his day
Week 11
The Packers stay on the road as they head to the nation’s capital to take on the Washington football team. Now at 4-5, they aren’t facing a huge risk in the division, as they trail the Detroit Lions and the Minnesota Vikings by just one game. However, they have to start playing better football if they want to have any shot at putting together a run.
