Two Kansas City Chiefs Headed to Injured Reserve
Jamaal Charles
Jamaal Charles missed Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts due to swelling and soreness in his surgically repaired knee. Charles went back to visit Dr. James Andrews earlier this week, where he was unable to pinpoint the cause of the swelling. So far this season Jamaal Charles had only carried the ball 12 times for 40 yards and a touchdown. However, with the injuries to Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West Sunday, the depth at running back has become very short for Kansas City. According to Adam Schefter, the Chiefs are looking at Trent Richardson and have signed Bishop Sankey from the Patriots practice squad to address this.

Trent Richardson was the number three overall pick coming out of Alabama. He found success during his first year in Cleveland with 950 yards and 11 touchdowns. Since that first season he has struggled to find work, sharing the workload in Indianapolis during 2013-2014 and then getting cut by the Raiders in training camp the following year.
Bishop Sankey was the Tennesee Titans second round pick in 2014. During his rookie season, Sankey ran the ball 152 times for 569 yards only to be released by Tennesee during final roster cuts.
Parker Ehinger
The Chiefs rookie left guard has also been lost for the season. Sunday, Parker Ehinger left the game early and was seen on crutches afterward. Today the team has confirmed he has a torn ACL and that the fourth-round pick will miss the rest of the season. Ehinger will likely be replaced with Zach Fulton for the remainder of the season. Fulton filled in for Ehinger earlier this season when he sustained a concussion.
