Olson, who has been with the Jaguars since January 2015 has been walking on rather thin ice this season as the Jaguars’ offense seems to have regressed from its outstanding performance of last season.

Unfortunately for Olson, standout players such as Allen Robinson and Blake Bortles have been recognized this season for all the wrong reasons, as neither of the two are anywhere close to the level of play they reached last year.

However, whilst Olson has been let down by various different players under-performing in 2016, poor play calling has been at fault of many poor performances from this offensive unit. Most notably, the infamous bubble screen in the opener versus Green Bay.

Quarterbacks coach Nathaniel Hackett has been promoted temporarily but it remains to be seen as to whether or not he will be given the position on a permanent basis moving forward. Hopefully this has the desired effect on Blake Bortles and company, who are in desperate need of rejuvenation approaching mid-season.

Olson had previously been the offensive coordinator for the Oakland Raiders and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Being fired two times in two years doesn’t fare well for Olson, and he may have to take a smaller job or start coaching in college if he wants to continue his career.
