The Houston Texans won a thriller in overtime this past Sunday. The Texans were behind the whole game, but were able to tie it up in the last five minutes of regulation. They kept this momentum going in overtime, and it carried them to victory. Winning a divisional game is always a good thing, but sometimes there’s a price to pay. During the game, the Texans secondary which was already without starter Kareem Jackson, lost two more key players.
Houston Texans Secondary Decimated by Injuries
The Houston Texans, and their fans were able to enjoy an amazing comeback victory for one night before awful news came out. During last nights game, the Texans lost corner-back Kevin Johnson to a broken foot, and rookie safety K.J. Dillon to a torn ACL. Johnson broke the foot he had surgery on this past off-season. The loss of Kevin Johnson is devastating to the Texans secondary. The Texans are already without starting corner-back Kareem Jackson, who is dealing with a hamstring injury. Johnathan Joseph is also playing banged up. The absence of Jackson, and now Johnson will play a major part in the Texans upcoming games. Upcoming games against the Denver Broncos, and the Detroit Lions will show us whether or not the Texans secondary will hold up. Both teams lay claim to a top group of wide receivers, and present an interesting challenge to the Texans. Already without 3 time Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt, the Texans will have their work cut out for them. The injuries are piling up for the Texans, and their week 9 BYE week can’t come soon enough.
Brock Osweiler returns to Denver for week seven, facing the team that let him go on Monday Night Football. The game kicks off at 8:30pm EST Monday, October 24th and will be televised on ESPN.
