The 2022 season wraps up at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. LWOS submits their final F1 Predictions – Race Winner, Podium, & Surprise Result.

The end is upon us, the Yas Marina Circuit will once again host the finale of the F1 season for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Last time here the race came to a controversial end with Max Verstappen winning the title against Lewis Hamilton. This year’s race won’t have the same level of intensity, but there are plenty of storylines coming into the weekend that has big impacts. Will Verstappen and Perez’s drama continue heading into the final race weekend? Does Lewis Hamilton close out the season with a win? Does Vettel or Ricciardo have one final drive into the points before they say goodbye? Here are the final LWOS F1 Predictions.

F1 Predictions: Race Winner

  • Arturo – Lewis Hamilton
  • Ed – Charles Leclerc
  • Evan – Lewis Hamilton
  • Fatima – Carlos Sainz
  • Gabe – Max Verstappen
  • Jack – Lewis Hamilton
  • Justin – Lewis Hamilton
  • Nathan – Max Verstappen
  • Nelson – Lewis Hamilton
  • Nick – Lewis Hamilton
  • Thomas – Sergio Perez
  • Yara – Lewis Hamilton

Now that one Mercedes driver got their first win, the favor leans onto the other to get their win. Lewis Hamilton once again leads the way with seven picks to be the winner for this weekend. Following a dominant performance in Brazil, the Silver Arrows are looking to close out the year on a high with back-to-back races. Will the nightmare of last year’s race haunt Hamilton? He was dominant throughout the entire race, depending how practice goes will determine how the weekend will be for them. Verstappen follows up with two picks, who think he will replicate the same result as last year. A perfect way to cap off a historic season.

Sainz, Perez, and Leclerc all have one pick. For Perez and Leclerc, this race is crucial for them as they head into the finale tied with 290 points. Following a controversial weekend in Brazil with his teammate, Perez may have ignited a spark in himself to challenge for the win and secure second in the standings. For Leclerc, if his team can once again limit the mistakes and keep his car away from the wall. He does have huge momentum going into this race after an amazing drive from sixteenth to fourth in Brazil. Carlos Sainz remains a dark horse coming into the weekend following a podium in Brazil.

F1 Predictions: The Podium

  • Arturo – George Russell & Carlos Sainz
  • Ed – Sergio Perez & George Russell
  • Evan – Charles Leclerc & George Russell
  • Fatima – Lewis Hamilton & Max Verstappen
  • Gabe – Carlos Sainz & Charles Leclerc
  • Jack – Max Verstappen & Charles Leclerc
  • Justin – Charles Leclerc & Max Verstappen
  • Nathan – Lewis Hamilton & George Russell
  • Nelson – Max Verstappen & Charles Leclerc
  • Nick – Max Verstappen & Sergio Perez
  • Thomas – George Russell & Lewis Hamilton
  • Yara – Sergio Perez & Charles Leclerc

There was never a doubt all season after Red Bull, Ferrari, or Mercedes dominated the podium positions. All three have been too dominant to see another team sneak their way into the podium, except Lando Norris once. Last week’s winner George Russell leads the way again with five picks. Surprisingly, Max Verstappen, who is rarely a podium pick is tied with four five Charles Leclerc. Even though the title race is over, the podium will be a determining factor for second in the constructors and drivers. Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc come into the finale tied on points, and Ferrari only holds a nineteen-point lead over Mercedes. A double podium for either Ferrari or Mercedes could secure second in the standings.

F1 Predictions: Surprise Result

  • Arturo – Checo and Verstappen collide with each other ruining their races
  • Ed – Hamilton takes out Verstappen
  • Evan – Verstappen DNF after an incident with Perez
  • Fatima – Perez DNF
  • Gabe – Alfa Romeo double DNF
  • Jack – Hamilton to overtake Verstappen after Safety Car
  • Justin – Vettel top 5 finish
  • Nathan – Vettel and Ricciardo finish in the points in their final F1 race
  • Nelson – Double points finish for McLaren
  • Nick – Latifi, Vettel, and Ricciardo all get points
  • Thomas – Max Verstappen DNF, the top 5 finishers will be within 1.75 seconds, Vettel finishes 4th, and Alonso 5th
  • Yara – Max Verstappen DNF

Capping off the finale of the F1 season, the staff feels that Verstappen is due for a DNF. Some believe the drama between the two Red Bulls will follow its way and disrupt their race. This is the most interesting storyline apart from Vettel and Ricciardo departing the sport. It would be quite nice to see both Vettel and Ricciardo come away with points in their final race. Ricciardo is not in good form at the moment, but Vettel has been giving fans more magic these last few weeks. Thomas comes in with a four-part surprise hoping for a massive race to cap off the season on a high. If Vettel or Ricciardo can come away from their final race in F1 on a high, that will give fans something to rave as they bid farewell. And Jack has probably the hottest of all predictions, in a reversal of 2021 Jack sees Lewis Hamilton passing Max Verstappen after a Safety Car.
