Kyle Larson wins the Boyd Gaming 300 in Vegas

Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney battled hard for the lead for most of the afternoon and it seemed that one of these two full time Monster Energy Series Cup drivers would eventually take the checkered flag at the completion of the Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It was Christopher Bell who in the end was Larson’s closest competition.

Kyle Larson was followed by Bell with, Justin Allgaier finishing third. Ryan Blaney led a ton of laps but ended the race in fourth position. Elliot Sadler rounded out the top five.

For Kyle Busch his day was eventful. Joe Gibbs Racing teammates, Kyle Busch and Brandon Jones made contact near the midway point in the race. Busch seemed to have been upset with Jones and initiated the contact. He was seen giving Jones the one finger salute after the incident.

Kyle Busch, who is used to leading laps whenever he sits in an Xfinity car, had a very un-Busch like day. A penalty after for having a man over the wall too soon, ended any hope for a victory. Busch was coming off a victory in the Camping World Truck Series Friday night.

Larson suffered a poor pit stop and Justin Allgaier took advantage, leading 10 laps until Larson marched back up through the field.

Kyle Larson Seals The Win

The race had all the makings of a fuel saving race until Ryan Reed slammed into the wall with 15 laps remaining, causing a late race caution. Reddick, Larson, Bell and Blaney were the leaders when the race restarted.

From there it was no contest as Kyle Larson made easy work of Reddick and marched untouched to the finish line. Larson, who will be one of the favorites to win the Monster Energy Cup series race on Sunday, made his day Saturday look easy. He hopes for a repeat performance in the Pennzoil 400 on Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. After watching his performance Sunday, it’d be hard to bet against him.
