Alabama Gets WR Henry Ruggs III

Henry Ruggs III, from Montgomery, Alabama announced today for the Crimson Tide, adding depth to the receiving corps for Nick Saban’s recruiting class.  The Crimson Tide already had locked up the #1 recruiting class in the country prior to today, but getting Ruggs helps solidify the class.

Ruggs is a 6-0, 175 wide receiver with great downfield speed, clocked at 4.4 in the 40 yard dash. He had a 61 yard touchdown reception in the US Army All American game in San Antonio last month.

Ruggs is also one of the best high school basketball players in the state, but said football was always going to be his choice for college. He had narrowed his choices to Alabama and Florida State going into signing day. He announced his decision by the grave site of childhood friend Roderic Scott.
