Bruins Sign Jeremiah McClure

Bruins Sign Jeremiah McClure

UCLA keeps the train of high-end receivers coming to Westwood as the Bruins sign Jeremiah McClure.

The 6-2, 195-pound receiver is a four-star recruit who is coming from Mater Dei Catholic High School in Chula Vista.

He had 10 touchdown receptions and just over 800 receiving yards in his senior year. He had 16 offers, mostly from schools in the west like Arizona, Washington, BYU, USC, Utah, and Fresno State. He also had offers from Michigan and Tennessee. Receivers coach Jerry Neuheisel was the one shepherding his recruiting process. McClure told Bruin Report Online that Neuheisel recruited him harder than most any of the coaches from the other schools.

McClure said UCLA was the best option for him in terms of football and academics.

The Bruins are losing their top receiver from last season with Jake Bobo graduating. To this point, they return Kaz Allen, Logan Loya, and Kam Brown, all of whom have had varying degrees of effectiveness for the Bruins. With a new quarterback and a new starting running back taking over, the offense is going to undergo a transformation, so McClure will get a shot in camp. Of course, all situations with every program are fluid through the end of the transfer portal window on January 18th.

UCLA is bringing in at least two four-star recruits and a five-star quarterback. Chip Kelly has his best recruiting class in his UCLA tenure. The Bruins went into signing day with the #23 class in the country.
