2022 Week 11 Heisman Rankings

2022 Week 11 Heisman Rankings

Believe it or not, there’s only two more weeks of the college football regular season. While teams are making their case to the selection committee for College Football Playoff and Bowl consideration, our Heisman contenders are doing the same with the voters.  It feels like the Heisman is about as open at this point in the year as it has ever been. We’ll dive into that and more as we break down the contenders in our 2022 Week 11 Heisman rankings.

Quarterbacks continue to lead the way, but do we have a big-time running back set to make a jump? With only two weeks remaining, it’s all about who can have that Heisman moment and impress the voters. With that, let’s take a look as we unveil our 2022 Week 11 Heisman rankings.

Note: Ties were broken alphabetically by player’s last name

Ranking Player Position Team Points
1 Hendon Hooker QB 62
2 C.J. Stroud QB 56
3 Blake Corum RB 36
4 Drake Maye QB 27
5 Max Duggan QB 10
6 Caleb Williams QB 9
7 Bryce Young QB 7
8 Michael Pennix, Jr. QB 2
9 Stetson Bennett QB 1

Top Five Candidates

1. Hendon Hooker

QB | Tennessee                                                                                                                                                                       Next Game: 11/19 at South Carolina

Hooker continues to find himself in first place after a very nice bounce-back win over Missouri on Saturday. His lead is very narrow so he’ll need to have two outstanding games against South Carolina and Vanderbilt as he will not have the opportunity for another marquee game on the schedule before the announcement is made. Still, he has been the most consistent player in the country this season.

2. C.J. Stroud

QB | Ohio State                                                                                                                                                                         Next Game: 11/19 at Maryland

Much like Hooker, Stroud bounced back in a big way last week. His five-touchdown performance has him still very firmly in the race. He’ll have a bigger audience with games at Maryland followed by Michigan the following week. If Stroud can have a huge performance against Michigan, it could be what he needs to tip the scale in his favor.

3. Blake Corum

RB | Michigan                                                                                                                                                                    Next Game: 11/19 vs Illinois

Corum is doing everything in his power to keep himself in this race and has emerged as the most consistent running back in the country this year. Very much like Stroud, Corum has two more games here in the regular season against marquee opponents so that he can make a statement for himself. Could a 200-yard performance and a win over Ohio State be what it takes to allow him to hoist the trophy in December?

4. Drake Maye

QB | North Carolina                                                                                                                                                                     Next Game: 11/19 vs Georgia Tech

It’s not Stroud or Hooker that has the most impressive numbers this season from a statistical perspective. It is the redshirt freshman at North Carolina that has nearly 4,000 yards from scrimmage and 39 total touchdowns. With three guaranteed games remaining and a shot at Clemson on December 3rd, he has an incredible opportunity and will be a factor in this race.

QB | TCU                                                                                                                                                                                 Next Game: 11/19 at Baylor

Duggan is having his best season by far in Fort Worth. With 25 touchdowns and just two interceptions on the season, his efficiency has been outstanding. However, it feels like he would need a significant collapse from the leaders in front of him to win the award. Be that as it may, he was one more huge hurdle to climb as the Horned Frogs travel to Waco to take on the Bears after getting trounced by Kansas State last weekend.
