The chances are becoming fewer and farther in between for these players to create that Heisman moment. The debate remains whether or not this is more of the best player on the best team award or the best individual player award. However, getting to that conference championship game as a team is invaluable to giving the experts one final look on a huge stage. Before we get into the top half, let’s take a look at all of the contenders in our 2021 week 11 Heisman rankings.

Could this week’s Big 10 battle between Michigan State and Ohio State be a Heisman eliminator for either Kenneth Walker III or C.J. Stroud? Kenny Pickett and Matt Corral have games under the radar where they will need to put up huge numbers. Meanwhile, can Bryce Young continue his excellent play in a top 25 matchup against Arkansas? Top Five Candidates

1. Bryce Young

QB | Alabama                                                                                                                                                                    Next Game: 11/20 vs Arkansas

Young’s 270 yard, five-touchdown performance against New Mexico State was enough for him to reclaim the top spot in this week’s rankings. The Tide host top 25 Arkansas this week in their home finale. Young could conceivably have two more opportunities to impress the committee against Auburn next week and a potential SEC Championship Game against Georgia.

2. Kenneth Walker III

RB | Michigan State                                                                                                                                                                        Next Game: 11/20 at Ohio State

143 yards and two touchdowns were not enough for Walker to keep his top spot. He drops one this week despite a solid game against Maryland on Saturday. The good news is that he will have the entire country watching this week as the Spartans travel to Columbus to face Ohio State. If Walker has a good game and Michigan State wins, he will find himself back in the top spot.

3. Matt Corral

QB | Ole Miss                                                                                                                                                                                     Next Game: 11/20 vs Vanderbilt

Even though his stats aren’t eye-popping, Corral led Ole Miss to an impressive win over Texas A&M on Saturday. That was enough to keep him in the thick of the Heisman race. He faces struggling Vanderbilt in his final tune-up prior to the Egg Bowl. A big day statistically will be critical for him to keep pace with his competition.
